RECORDING 7: THE THIRD WEEK.

A third week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. The final week completely covered by everyone's rations, though with proper meting out, you'll be able to make it stretch until after week 4. It seems as if everyone will have to go without a few meals here and there..
To make things worse, when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten thicker. Everyone, save those still protected either by their powers or items they brought with them, is now even more deeply affected by the curse. Arguments will be flaring up more, along with negative thoughts and feelings...and even more worrying Is that any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in half a day it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also corrode, and even personal healing abilities have been halved.
The Temperature has dropped, just a bit - down to the mid to low 60's. Strange, isn't it? As before, the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.
25 of your number still remain.
...What new horrors await you this week?

[For the time being, Nanaka will be checking out the stairs we slid in from and looking for a way to disable the trap on it.]

However, when Nanaka goes to check them out...oddly enough, it seems like now they've been locked in place. No matter how much weight she puts on them, they stay as firm and straight as ever.]

[Let's... check out that diary, then.]

Ky, however, finds the papers aren't newspapers - they're torn pages from a book, written in thin, spidery looking handwriting:]
My previous home fell victim to the floods...it was horrible, but I managed to escape with my life, though I've lost a place to live.
As I am still a young, healthy woman, I am certain that I will be able to recover from this awful loss...but I should find a far better place to live, away from the water.
I will have to travel for some time, but I believe it will be for the best. There should be plenty of food to find where I am going, at the very least.
[That's all on that page - the second one continues where the first left off, though there's no dates.]
I'm finally at my new home, though it took a few days travel and preparation. I am tired, but I've already had a nice meal and settled in as much as I could. MY new home is out of the way, I think - and as I suspected, there's plenty of game to go around here, so I should never truly go hungry.
On my way here, I noticed a particularly handsome man staring at me. Though I hurried away at the time, I certainly wouldn't mind if he came calling in a bit - though perhaps not so soon after settling in. He did look quite fine, though...certainly a man healthy enough to also catch my eyes!
i shall leave it at this for now, and look forward to more peaceful days of living quietly off the lay of the land.
[That's all there is for now, though.]

[See anything, Nanaka?]

The question is why did someone rip out what seems to be a pretty innocent section?

....You get the feeling you've found all you can in this area, and the library.]

[Maybe? As long as that person has butterfingers or has holes in their pockets or is clumsy like Emil. It's plausible!]

I believe there are a few clues to be found in these papers, though perhaps it would be best to discuss them with the group later.

[It's subtle, but the hand holding the lightning ball up has been trembling almost the entire time]

[that may not always be the case, but.. For now, that seems to be the case.]

[He holds his hand, the cut had stopped bleeding by now. All things considered, getting out of this only with one cut amidst three people is a boon no matter how they look at it, haha.
A+ team exploration. Let's get out of here!]
