nobody's in the mood for recording 6.9: the post-trial garden tea "party"
- The flowers that bloomed at the end of the trial are ones that only seem to prove, continuously, that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Of course, it's only natural that many of the people are full of mixed emotions - grief? sadness? anger? frustration? maybe something else completely different?
But it's there, along with the end of the week.
Miasma still continues to be around, of course - but make use of the fact that this might be the last time it'll be at a low level one before it shoots up again.
Well.
Life continues as usual, disregarding any feelings that any of the house's occupants might be feeling.
So what are you doing these next two days?

Actually, he blinks upon seeing Dazai there.]
Oh...Dazai-san. Do you - I uh, made some extra tea, if you want any...?
[For once, he actually kind of seems at a loss of what to say.]

It's - to try and write something. I know Sakaguchi-san and Yachi-chan are already writing things down, but...I got some advice to try my own hand at it. I'm sure it won't be anything good, but...It's better than just waiting around for someone else to die, right?

he's emotionally drained and keyed up at the same time, there's just no energy. what would be the point? he's avoided it this long... and of course, this guy being smarter than he looks...

Different from your world's situation. You're actually nothing like him personality-wise, for the record. But you have the same coloring. Some of the same bulldoggedness. You just won't stop until you're satisfied or--

[There a pause, as he kneels down and finishes mopping up the tea, grabbing a dustpan to get the broken shards into.]

It's not like what you might know--he didn't live long enough to write anything. Though he... really wanted to.
It was actually pretty silly. A former talented child assassin saying he wouldn't kill anymore because he wanted to write a story.

I think - Oda-san must have been pretty brave, in his own way. To want to stop killing people and create something...that just shows how much he meant it.
[Though he's still assuming the tuberculosis death, honestly.]
You've said a little about him, but...what was he like? Really like, not just in comparison to me.

He always seemed very calm on the outside. Definitely a "still waters run deep" sort of thing. He usually took things people said at face value, had a bad habit of letting people just say the craziest things without the bat of an eyelash. [guess who was especially guilty of this] But he was very firm in his decisions. Once he made up his mind, there was no way of changing it.
[BOY DID HE TRY.]
And he never shaved consistently. It's such a small thing, but it'd make you wonder if he needed a better razor. Maybe he just didn't like to shave. [or depression and shit] He also confused Cinderella and Snow White. And liked his curry way too spicy for me to handle.
[and then he's quiet for a moment before:]
... I think he did get frustrated with me, once. In a way, I forced his hand and made him shoot a sniper in the arm so the sniper's bullet only grazed my head. I really was a brat, then.

[There's not much else he can say - but he is thankful. Thankful that, finally, Dazai is openly talking to him, for once.]
And...I can kind of get why he'd be a little frustrated with you. If he was really that open and honest...then he probably saw the same thing I do with you.
