[the walls and everything in the armory are covered in math. This is now the mathroom. Sho isn't there anymore, but there is a big weird crab. The crab has purple eyes and also a knife]

[Oh hey, a mathroom. A mathroom with a crab in the middle, and the crab's eyes are even purple like Subete's, so clearly in light of the matchies he's going to have to engage this crab in ritual combat.]

[Okay, maybe not. He remembers a note of caution somewhere in an endless meeting about hitting these ridiculous things with two people. So he doesn't bother hitting the crab, but he does examine it and its little accessory from behind his shield.]

Ah, are those pesky ghosts trying to mess with our supplies now? What a pain.

[the crab blows angry bubbles and does a typical crabby threat which is made less typical by the knife]

Hahaha.

[It would be threatening if it weren't 1. A stylized graffiti crab that a math nerd presumably pulled from his ass and 2. Looking a whole lot more like it's trying to cheer or do the wave than anything especially threatening. The knife flashes brightly and looks nothing at all like a glowstick, but it's the principle of the matter here.

Maybe he'll test some things out. There's a quick wave of his hand and a little flick of water sails out, shapes itself into a watery crab (with fork!) silhouette, and mirrors the bubbly display going on outside.]

Try that on for size, won't you?

[!! CRAB BATTLE!! The Carcinopunk postures at the other crab for a moment before hunkering down in what looks to be a defensive posture. But then it starts spinning, a football-sized saw blade, and flies through the air to cut through the water crab]

[The good thing about using water for this is that it's hard to sully, and even harder to completely defeat -- a great sparring partner for, uh, whatever the hell kind of crab this is considering it seems to have turned into an angry monochromatic Beyblade. Hm.

The water crab is bisected! But Subete just laughs and gestures, the kanji embedded in the water crab's insides glimmers brightly, and then... it becomes TWO, albeit smaller splashy crabs with forks. They're a little less well-formed, but they don't necessarily need to be.]

We've fished up a lively one...

[well, Noise are not very smart, being manifestations of negative emotions in weird animal shapes. So it's just going to do it again.

Except this time, it changes direction mid-flight to strike at Subete]

[He really has no idea what a Noise is, beyond its style looking vaguely familiar and all, but well. Subete definitely has his barrier up, and in fact may put up his defenses anytime arithmetic is even vaguely involved now, so thanks for that. Since the crabs have in fact multiplied and not subtracted, the little water crabs scurry uselessly after the flying crab with their tiny legs!

It is a very sad attempt at being the cavalry.

Meanwhile, there's a funny KRRRRSSSHHH noise as the crab just kinda. Bounces off the shield.]

Aha, so you do have some kind of planning instinct.

[So now there's just a flying, spinning crab. Surely this can't go wrong at all.]

[He was coming just to get some spare ammo for his rifle. It was just that.

The first thing he notices is Subete because hey, he's a person he's been seeing around. Hi, fellow crew member. The next thing he notices is the flying, spinning crab.

He doesn't even know when exactly he lunged aside to dodge that deadly crustacean, falling on his back and taking the rifle off his back]

There's not a moment to rest around here, is there?!

[Plants turn poisonous and burst out of people, there are weird trials, and now there's this flying two-dimensional crab like some sort of spinning sawblade, all in the same day. Can things go back to when they were normal? He'd appreciate that.

The crab, having narrowly missed Emil -- judging by the cut on his uniform, right on the shoulder -- is still a huge danger, even though Emil has his rifle]

[excuse you, only his CLAWS are 2D. The rest of the crab is painfully solid. It bounces off a wall after striking Emil and lands back on the floor.

Additional angry bubbles are blown. COME AT THEE!!]

[To be fair to Emil, it's definitely hard to do geometry while there's a flying sawblade crab of death coming at you, and it's even harder to make good use of the armory when the armored stuff within comes to dubious life and tries to disarm you.]

Oh, you startled us. Nice reflexes, though.

[Subete does not look startled. Subete does in fact look like he's lounging a little, ensconced in his ridiculously gaudy barrier, though he does seem to be closely watching the saga of Emil (rifle) vs. Crablade (knife). Luckily (??) for Emil, the 'us' apparently includes the crabvalry: the twin tiny crabs are swarming his ankles trying to wave their splishy-splashy water forks at their larger enemy. Whether or not they'll be any help is a matter up for debate... But!]

Think your bullets will bounce off?

[Oops, 3D crab body! Even more dangerous, all things considered. Sure gives even more weight and width to the flying sawblade it is. If that had cut him, maybe it'd have even reached bone.

Emil glances at the water crabs, which don't seem to be attacking them. Oh, at least those seem to be on their side. One worry less!]

I doubt it! Unless I miss and hit a wall -- then that's going to hurt!

[It all depends on Emil's aim -- which is fairly good, he has that on his side. Still...good aim means a little less when what he aims for can move around]

[Still on the floor, Emil scoots back until he's against a wall, and aims at the knife the crab is holding. If he can disarm it, then maybe it'd be slightly less dangerous? Maybe?

Clenching his teeth, Emil fires the rifle]

[SUCCESS. The crab is disarmed. Well, I mean. It still has all its arms. But the knife is knocked aside. It seems perplexed for a moment, blowing a few bubbles.

Then it walks off sideways through the door and into the hallway.

CARCINOPUNK has... fled the battle??? bye crab]

It really isn't convenient to specialize in firearms around here, is it?

[It could be sympathetic, at a glance, and probably it doesn't matter when they're in the middle of a pitched battle against a sea-soned(??) warrior(????) of the deeps. The knife goes spinning, though it doesn't come close to the amazing spectacles of flying crableticism they've been witness to; one of the small water crabs scoots over and--

Now there are two water crabs holding the knife up like a prize and waving their tiny pincers stupidly. They're not actually doing anything with it, so Emil is free to collect his loot or whatever.

Carcinopunk makes its getaway! Subete is... clapping? That old clap he seems to do, once, twice, not quite a golf clap but not quite applause either.]

Good shot, though. I was hoping there would be more damage, but at least it's gone from the armory. Think shutting the door would keep it out?

[He did it! Congratulating himself internally, Emil stands up, passing a finger on the cut on his uniform. That was...so uncomfortably close]

Not if a ghost gets it through a wall. I bet they can do that.

[Watching patiently as Emil takes stock of himself and seeming pretty unconcerned, really -- maybe he's just treating the seathrough food much too cavalierly around here, or it's just that it's not his outfit or hide on the chopping block here.

Minamimoto, yes. He seems to like sprinkling math the way other people would sprinkle interjections or more colorful words. Quite a character.

[There's a laugh in his voice that says he's caught exactly what Emil meant, but he isn't bothering to call him out on it right now. Mercy for the crab wrangler, maybe? He's going to pick up that knife, also, before another crab gets ahold of it.

Subete tilts his head towards the frame in the cameras that shows the greenhouse; it's probably pretty hard to see anything on it at the moment because, you know, monstrous poison plants all over.

It's truly an infestation. He doesn't look intrigued, precisely, but he does look engaged.]

[Judging by his light tone, he's aware that he's just being mildly contrary here, but so what.]

[While he was walking towards the boxes to search in them for stuff to block the vents, he steps on what's left of the water that formed the crabs. He stops]

...this will work better than what I already had in mind. I'm going to seal the greenhouse, burn down the plants, and use water to stop any poison from spreading. But you, you can make water! Come on, help me. With an ability like yours it's guaranteed to work.

[He actually laughs a little, but it's plain entertained instead of mocking; maybe Emil's managed to surprise him, or he's just having a little fun not all the way at his expense. Look, when you not-really-roast a crab as a not-really-team there's some bonding involved, right? Maybe.

[Well, usually probably greenhouses aren't quite like this either. So this is their possible biohazard waste team so far............ a dude with froofy hair and a dude with froofy clothes. Wonderful. There's the smallest quirk of a brow at the leap in logic. It works, doesn't it?]
