RECORDING 3: THE FIRST TRIAL

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where you first met Todd. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - glowering at all of you, still missing the arm Dazai shorn from him with his touch.
On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.
Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.
One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.
...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?
The choice...is up to you.
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 1
WEEK 1 VOTING

[ he sure loves to defy magic all the time, after all. ]
Anything he perceives as magic or fiction isn't real to him. Because of that, he will always try to find a rational explanation that will become reality to him. That is why he was unable to understand Sissel before we explained that he had a collar to translate his thoughts--because since when do cats talk, right? [ he gives her a small, wry smile. ] The point is, that he sustained a grave injury in the fight for the detonator. Really, it's something that would have definitely needed actual surgery, but you know we aren't capable of doing that here. So I asked Seteth to knock him out so Marona could heal him completely-- I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but it did because he was unable to perceive anything.
[ he pauses, giving rosa some time to let it all sink in for her. ]
I'm almost certain that if he finds out that he was healed by magic, all the effort will be undone and his injury will come back. So we are all going to say that Jack helped him fullly recover using a medical device that he brought with him from his world. But as his family member, I needed you to also be aware of it, too. He cares about you greatly, and I don't think that he'll doubt any of us if our story is straight. I would also prefer if he stayed unaware of his own ability, too-- I wouldn't want to see the effects of him finding out that he is able to do something impossible. Do you agree to this?

[...calms herself.]
O... Okay. Who's Jack? I can't... I'm a little unsure. [...]
--I'll just say I lost it, fainted, and didn't see it. Does that work?

[ and that is not easy for him to say at all. it's only been a week and he has already grown attached to him. ]
That works. [ a nod. ] I know that you two care about each other a lot, so I didn't want to go through this without telling you first.

...Okay. I understand.
...But, Doctor, why would he have some power like that? You're saying he can warp reality... just from being stubborn?

[ he shakes his head. ]
I sweat butter, for example. It's as ridiculous as it comes, don't you think?
no subject
...Wait, what? Butter?

Well... I'll have to remember if we ever want to fry something.
