RECORDING 3: THE FIRST TRIAL

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where you first met Todd. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - glowering at all of you, still missing the arm Dazai shorn from him with his touch.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice...is up to you.

Was anybody missing from their rooms last night? We can't implicate someone based on that, but if anyone has a solid alibi for the whole night then we can at least discount them, yes?

I don't think anyone was missing from our room last night. I'm a night owl, so I tend to be up pretty late.

You're certain everyone was there until late into the evening? Nobody was missing, up until you went to sleep?

...I went back to my room after the party and fell asleep pretty quickly. I don't really remember if the rest of my room was in there by then...

It was the same for me. I went back and went to sleep, and paid little mind as to who came and went. And without a time of death, narrowing it down will be even more difficult.

Sometime before midnight, I was in the bathroom for a bit. Then I went back to my room to go to sleep.

We could probably discount them, albeit keeping accomplices who would cover for them in mind. I don't think it's too likely in this case, but it's not something we should completely discount either.

I sincerely hope there's no accomplices here. This murder was senseless.

I've been trying to sleep more but it's always really light. I think I could have heard someone walking away.

I agree. If someone had come or gone from our room, at least one of us would have noticed. So we can probably discount people from room 1.

There must have been pretty few people up and about after that gathering. I’d say the culprit picked their timing based on that, but did Olympia usually stay in her room at night?

I was in Room 4 for the whole night. Didn't really see anything out of the ordinary.

I usually go to bed pretty early... um, I don't think my roommates were all asleep by then, but I couldn't tell you for sure. I-It's not... something I thought to check, at the time...
