WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

Like I said, I'm not going to stay with anyone and that's--

I can't. I really, really can't. Please understand, I just. [ Does she have to admit something that she really doesn't want to? Guess so! Her voice is trembling slightly as she admits: ] I don't trust anyone here? I can't stay with someone that I can't possibly trust.

[HE DOES NOT LIKE THIS DEATH FLAGGING??]

Trust is hard to come by in a place like this, I know. It takes time to build, and is earned rather than freely given.

But is there really no one here you’d feel comfortable staying with?

[dereban]

It's. . . not because of this place. I mean, it's partially because of that, but. I'd rather not talk about it any further. Not here.

[ Not in front of everyone. But she does duck her head in apology. ] I'm sorry.

Can I come find you later?

Yeah.

Don't visit too late, though.

Before midnight, when we all fall asleep. Got it. Don’t worry; I’ll be prompt.

Good, because you're staying with people, and I don't want you collapsing in my room when I said I need to be alone.

[purrtagonist]

Would you carry me back to my room if I did?

[princess style???]

[dereban]

No.

[purrtagonist]

. . . I've never been so thoroughly rejected before.

[dereban]

There's a first for everything.

It was inevitable that I'd experience the harsh sting at some point in my life. Now I can grow past it and become a better person.
