WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

Here's to hoping. [But hmm.] Though, I wonder if there'd be any way to communicate back with them. I feel like that'd help us determine if we can trust them or not.

Do you think we could. . . I don't know, write back? I mean, a Staff member brought the letter, so maybe we can write a letter of our own and ask if they could send it to them privately? Since they're trying to keep their anonymity.

[ She has absolutely no idea if that would even work or not, but the suggestion is being made regardless. ]

Haha... You read my mind.

I think it'd be worth a shot. The worst thing that could happen is the staff refusing or having the letter not go through. And if they really are watching, then at least they'd know we were trying to reach out to them somehow.

What can I say? I'm good at that, even without any magical abilities.

[ She quirks her lips into a smile. ] We can definitely at least give it a shot, though. You wanna try writing the letter?

[relentlesslyonwards]

You're not someone to be underestimated, that's for sure.

[There's a nod as her question.]

Yeah, alright. I kinda had something in mind already anyways. Although... who do you think I should address it to, anyways? "Our mysterious benefactor"?

[That probably sounds too sarcastic though.]

I try my best.

[ She smiles a little bit softly. ] Anyway, yeah, I think that would work? They never gave us a name to work with, after all.

Haha. Alright, give me a second to write it up, then.

[He flips to the back of his student notebook, neatly tearing out a page and scribbling something down before handing it over to Inaba.]

This look good to you?

[dereban]

[ Inaba scans it over rather carefully before placing her hands on her hips and nodding. ]

Yeah, that definitely works. It's pretty nice and simple.

[relentlesslyonwards]

I'll call over one of the staff, then.

[Just tries to wave someone over!? And apparently gets rebuffed by the staff welp. He sighs.]

Back to square one, I guess.

[dereban]

Guess we'll just have to hope that whoever wrote this was watching...

Or that they overheard us. As long as the message gets across, we can't be picky.

[He closes his notebook with a hand and deposits it back into his jacket.]

Thanks a lot for your help, though. You really are always looking out for other people, huh.

[dereban]

That's the important part--

[ She smiles a little bitterly, shaking her head. ] You're wrong about me looking out for others. I'm not that kind of person.

Really? Well, you can say it's for your own survival or it's just a whim of yours, but that doesn't change the fact that you've been helping everyone here in your own way... even if you don't see it like that.

[dereban]

I can't help everyone, though. If I do that... it makes me too dangerous.

...Yeah, you're right. But I think you try your best anyways.

I wouldn't try anything less than my best, you know.
