WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

[Nodding, and scooching just a little closer, enough so she won't have to speak so loudly and risk being overheard.]

Umm... Well, with my condition, um... When people touched my skin, they would notice that my body temperature's really cold. Like... Like a corpse, cold. And then they would think I'm weird and hate me, right? I don't want to be hated like that. After a while, it kind of become... Habit? Instinct? Both?

[This is true! But it's not the whole truth, naturally.]

But here, your body's normal and warm, right?

[It certainly felt that way earlier.]

Yes, but I've been like that for most of my life, and I've been like this for... a few weeks, as far as I can remember?

I mean, it's probably been longer, but the memories we're getting back can't exactly tell us how long it's been yet.

But it's still warm, so that part's not a problem anymore!

You just need to take it slowly so your brain can catch up to your body, right?

I think it still might take a while, though.

You can just practice a little at a time!

Maybe you can start off holding peoples' hands a little bit each day?

Umm... I think that might be a bit... too high of a hurdle for me...

[...It took me a month to hold hands with the guy I crushed on almost my entire life, please have mercy.]

Huh? But you were able to hold out your hand this time.

Yeah. So can I have the rest of the week off, please?
