WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

[...Aidios, that's actually really specific. How long was Roxas planning this for?? Who knows, but honestly: he did kind of ask for it when he chose dare. Not that it's going to stop him from heaving a sigh as he gets up.]

It's one up from asking me to run around naked or something, so I'm thankful for that... I guess.

[Not that he sounds that grateful, but oh well. Anyways, here he goes!! Rean dutifully collects all of the items listed (probably giving a thousand yard stare to the staff if they ask him why he wants some cucumber slices) before returning to the lobby. And like a true doormat, he lies down on the ground, trying his best to arrange the carrots before placing the cucumbers over his eyes. Are you ready for this, Roxas? Because he also moves his legs along with his arms like he's making a goddamn snow angel.

This may not be the longest ten seconds of his life, but it sure feels like one of the silliest.]

[ This was definitely a dare that Roxas had been thinking long and hard for, so yeah, he had it at the ready. He kind of gives a little laugh when Rean sighs and stands up, but blinks at his words. ]

...Yeah, I don't think I'd ever do anything like that.

[ Asking people something like that, anyway.

He'll wait for Rean to return with the items, and watch him do his thing, looking kind of amused, and when he's done. ]

You did a good job, and even went a bit of an extra mile.

[le sigh!! At least he can take these vegetables off his face now. Honestly though, a carrot probably already rolled off his face during the whole thing. But either way, he sits up and collects the vegetables before depositing them into the nearest garbage bin before walking back over to Roxas.]

So... I guess it's your turn now? Truth or dare.

[ It's probably good that Roxas isn't the type to take pictures of embarrassing moments...hmm, he looks thoughtful at the question, though. ]

Why not Truth?

[The one blessing in this situation. Besides, Tsumugi already has plenty of blackmail material on him, it's fine.]

What's the silliest thing you've ever done?

I guess...try to fight with a stick.

[ That's about as silly as it gets, he thinks. ]

[It seems silly but he's sure there's worse.]

Huh, that doesn't seem so bad. Kids horse around like that all the time... guess I should've picked a better question.

[Not that he looks broken up about it or anything.]

Yeah, it really wasn't one of my best ideas, but it wasn't as bad as it could've been.

[ It's okay he knows his broken up about it INSIDE ok no. ]

Do you want me to through another at you? Truth or Dare?

[His imagination is now filled with images of tiny Roxas getting into stick fights with his friends...! or something. Rean's also probably done it a couple times himself though.]

Sure, but how about we go for truth this time.

[ Oh my god. Too bad Roxas hasn't existed long enough for that...

For a moment he'll briefly have a playful smile. Avoiding Dares after the first one, eh? ]

Sure, sure, I'll even actually go easy on you this time.

[ Sorry he's like this, Rean, but no he looks a little thoughtful for a moment... ]

What about telling me about a time you were really proud of something you did?

[Learning from your mistakes is a part of life, right? Probably.]

I appreciate it. [Because something pops to mind right away, as does a fond smile to go along with it.]

Well, there's only one real answer to that: it's the time we put on a concert in front of the school to end off the academy festival. There had been a lot going on at that time with the way our schoolwork and personal commitments were going, but each and every one of us still gave it their all to put everything together and make sure it worked out, even when it seemed like the festival was on the verge of being cancelled.

It was pretty tough at times, and there were moments where we all wanted to collapse out of sheer exhaustion, but... I wouldn't have traded that time for anything else.

[ Probably...but hearing about that makes him kind of smile a little, glad that he was able to at least make someone recount a fond memory. So, he listens with rapt attention, watching as Rean talks, some of the things unfamiliar to him. ]

...A concert?

[ ... ]

Academy festivals sound like they can be really nice things...and really fun. Can you tell me what usually happens in them besides a concert?

Haha, yeah. We were only supposed to perform two songs, but then a certain someone insisted on putting us through the wringer to do an encore.

[While he says it with an exaggeratedly exasperated tone, there's a slightly wistful look at the mention of that someone, but it passes by quickly enough with the topic of the festival.]

Sure, although it's not really that much different from a regular festival. We had food stalls set up all around campus, a card game booth, an Eastern teahouse... Each of the first-year classes had to put on some sort of attraction, so we got a good variety from those alone. Add in some of the clubs, and we even had a horse racing track on our field.

It's only a once a year thing, but... if we ever get the opportunity, I'd be glad to show you around.

[ Someone insisting on doing an encore...that kind of silliness doesn't sound harmful at all judging by Rean's reactions there. ]

I've never been to a normal festival either, actually. [ Hahaha... ] But all of those things sound nice-- wait, you'd really show me around? That'd be so cool!

[ He's totally perking up, though that lessens somewhat when he remembers what kind of situation they're in and it would be a giant 'if'. ]

[Whoa, Roxas is so excitable here... or maybe he's just acting his age. Not that it's a bad thing by any means, and Rean's smile widens a little at the whole thing.]

Yeah, and if you've never been to a normal festival, that's even more reason to invite you along. I'd say we'd all deserve it, after going through something like this.

...I think so too. Just fair warning, I'm a quick learner and I'd probably beat you at any games there after knowing how they work.

[Bright spots indeed. At Roxas' words though, there's a small glint in his eyes as his grin turns into something more competitive.]

Heh. Well, we'll just see about that, won't we? I won't make it easy either way.
