WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

If you could pick anywhere to be right now, where would you choose?

Earth. [Wait, that's not specific enough, they're on Earth--] Uh. New York City. With my family.

[It brings forth a small smile.]

It sounds really nice. Why New York City? [...] Unless there's a one question per round rule here.

[xenoqueen]

I went there for college--New York Aeronautics University. [She smiles.] Ever since then, I've wanted to move there, but living there isn't exactly cheap. It's part of the reason why I took up the job at Weyland-Yutani.

[wrongtiming]

Wow... That's really cool, Ellen.

[The astronautics, he means. As for the next part:]

Weyland-Yutani?

[xenoqueen]

The freighting company I work for. [A pause.] Used to work for, I guess. I don't know if I'll still have my job after...all this.

[...God, a job seems so insignificant compared to everything that she's suffered through before this. She shifts her sitting position slightly.] Not that it's something to be worried about.

[wrongtiming]

Because you'll have been gone for a while, or...?

[He shrugs.]

I don't think it's that bad to be thinking of your job. It's good to focus on what we might be going back to, right? It makes everything seem... A little more normal.

[xenoqueen]

[Ripley is quiet for a moment, debating whether or not to say the reason. She ultimately settles on a brief overview.]

There was an...incident on board the ship that left all of my crew dead. I was supposed to reach the frontier after about six weeks of hypersleep, but who knows how much time has passed since then?

[She looks away from Hunter.] ...I don't mean to be so depressing. I apologize.

[wrongtiming]

[He shakes his head after a pause, expression concerned.]

No, it's okay. You don't have to apologize. Just... I'm really sorry that happened.

[xenoqueen]

...Thanks.

[Ripley grimaces. Moral of the story kids is that capitalism is evil and will always favor profitable things at the expense of people's lives!]

It's over, anyways. We've still got to focus on the task before us.

[wrongtiming]

Right, but... It wouldn't be so bad if you were still thinking about what happened before, you know?

[A frown.]

[xenoqueen]

It wouldn't. I just...need some time before I can talk more about it.

[trauma is a bitch sometimes]

Right. We don't have to talk about anything you don't want to.
