WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

[Iwai doesn't seem too bothered by the question, but he does think the captain or the lady sleeping here is the most likely possibility. He's convinced of it]

I hadn't thought of that, but with how weird everyone's being about those, why not just give them a luxury suite as well?

There has to be a limit to the rats' influence.

[Iwai, how can you say that after everything that has happened]

They're making us kill each other and feed our dead bodies to the rats. Meanwhile if we do so much as step on one's tail, we'll get it.

I think the time for limits is long past here.

[Iwai chuckles. When Kohaku puts it like that he sure can't deny it]

What about the staff? Seen any rooms for them yet?

[He's not saying the staff sleeps in this room, but...yeah, he's wondering if Kohaku has seen anything like thaT]

I'm not convinced those fuckers need rooms at all. They're made of darkness or some shit and they can....

I don't even know what it is they can do. Teleport? Just stop existing and start again? Creepy shit, either way.

They can also get anything you ask from them -- it's not only themselves.

They're faking the stuff, probably.

I dunno. The stuff they gave me seemed plenty authentic.

You might not be looking close enough. Whoever brought us here definitely made a fake of my violin.

[ A fake so good, he didn't notice for a week. ]

How do you know it's fake?

[That sounds like important information!]

The dream-memory thing we got... It was about me asking our captors for a violin. Any violin, not mine specifically.

Putting this together with the news that our bodies are fake, I figured it makes zero sense for me to have an object from my home for real and.... well, if you play an instrument for over a decade, you know every scratch on it.

[geckodad]

Kind of weird they couldn't get a perfect copy of your violin, if they managed to copy our bodies exactly like they are.

[Tsk tsk, captors in the dream-memory]

That's why I'm wondering if our bodies are just flawed in some way we haven't found yet.

[geckodad]

They must be. Some of you don't have powers, that's flawed.

[Hmmm...]

You'd think if we're gonna get in dangerous situations they'd fill us with powers instead of limitin' them.

[dolleyed]

They did that for some of us, though to be honest I have no idea what the ability they gave me could actually be good for in our situation.

If you ever want a monster to shut up, I'm your man, I guess.
