WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

I guess we did need a cat to go with the dog.

[ She just takes a sip of her hot chocolate, pointedly not asking any specific questions about the new cat ears and tail. ]

[those ears on his head sure are twitching when she speaks. like they're actually picking up sound. like they're actually real]

Can't have cats versus dogs without at least one cat.

[Akira replies evenly without looking up from his notebook]

Well, if that war happens, I'll place all my bets on the dog winning.

[ Although taking a mental note that those cat ears are sure doing a thing. Also going to make an attempt to peer at his notebook not so subtly to see what he's doing there. ]

[she'll get a pretty good glimpse of what he's writing about-- the rules of the game, the nature of the resort, things like that-- before he gently snaps the book closed. looks like he's keeping notes of their discoveries for his own edification]

That's not a bad wager to make. I'd probably place a bet on the dog, too.

It's hard to compete with that much fluff.

It'd also probably chew your ass off, too.

[ She leans back a little bit, but she will remember this. ] So is this part of your "aesthetic", too, Kurusu?

[why is that so ominous!!]

Nnnope. It's more Ann's. [a beat] But I like to try new things from time to time.

[dereban]

One of your friends?

[ raises a brow ] Are you having fun with that, then?

[purrtagonist]

A friend from home.

[he confirms]

Mmmm. "Fun" seems too powerful of a word, but I don't mind them? They'll only last an hour.

[dereban]

An hour, huh. At least you got something more interesting than what I got.

[purrtagonist]

Hm? What did you get?

[dereban]

A pot.

And wooden spoons.

Ooooh

Drums.

[dereban]

Do you think they thought that I'd make a good drum player with it?

[purrtagonist]

Absolutely, I do. Especially if you put your mind to it.
