WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

By the way, have you interacted with the rats in any way? In your current state.

Well, judging by some of the Apprentice's injuries, it likes to play rough. I'm fine not seeing it for now.

Ah, well... the staff don't like me to interact with the rats. I can't imagine why! But I haven't sought them out, no.

How bad are his injuries, anyway?

[ There seems to be a vague sense of concern here... ] And huh. That's interesting. I wonder if there's a reason for that.

They were fairly severe, no matter what he tells you. But you'll be happy to hear he's back in one piece.

Well, it's probably just being career-ist against a man of science like myself. They don't call them 'lab rats' for nothing.

[ She does sigh in relief, however. ] Thanks for the heads up, though. And that's possible, since the rats are apparently Guests, too.

Yes! It's lucky for him I can heal damage to souls.

Mmm, that's what I suspect. And Guests can't hurt Guests. ... Unless we're playing Mafia, of course.

Well, that and, uh. Hurting the rats is against the rules? I don't want to find out what would happen to a ghost that attempts to break the rules.

I'd rather not either. Since the staff can interact with us, they can probably do other things as well, and I don't want to test a hypothesis on a second afterlife.

Yeah that. . . would be for the best. Like maybe this is like the seven layers of hell and dying after being dead will send you to the next layer.

Indeed. So for the time being, I will follow their rules.
