Everyone who was there in some shape or form for the meeting on March 1st gets a notice that soon, the location where they'll have to go to watch what happened in the Winchester Incident will be made available for them. Frisk requests a list of those going to see what happened, but doesn't seem to discourage high numbers.

And shortly before the 30th, those that signed up will finally get a name and place - The Hayes Mansion, only a little bit away by drive from the Winchester House. As they drive, the more magically inclined might be able to sense a powerful barrier emanating from the direction the Winchester House is located, though they'll be unable to see anything.

Arriving there, they'll find that any and all other guests have been removed from the Hotel resort, and there's a sign on the door saying that it is Closed for major renovation and fumigation, which would explain the outfits you were given to be 'seen' walking into the place with, as well as all the vans and 'containers' you were told to put your belongings into.

Once inside, a helpful staff member directs you to put the costumes into a specific bin for collection- unless, of course, you would like to keep wearing them - and then another directs you to the front desk, where a pleasant, yet authoritative man is waiting.

Okay, so that's... They'll do that meeting thing around six. I'll set an alarm to watch. Anyone want to bring snacks for that? Or make notes? Notes might be more important.

I don't think it'd kill me per say? Like... I have no idea how time traveling abilities work?

I'm already typing down notes from the very start and googling things up as necessary and I'm sure others are, too. We can probably ask the Hotel for food or maybe someone can cook something up?

I think what they're doing is smart, thuugh, to make sure that the password changes so that the ghosts can't find out about it.

In my universe, if you time travel you become part of that timeline... sort of. It's like the timeline changes to allow for your existence? That's why I remember having Mikado as a cousin all my life even though he time traveled to my time when I was fourteen.

But also... if you change the timeline too much, it completely wipes out the future you came from. So by meeting Mikado and realizing who he really was, his future became an impossibility. Misane-chan was able to make it back to her time and things had changed, but he disappeared sometime after they entered the time machine to return again.

That's pretty strange.

So, hypothetical brain exercise: if I went back in time to where they are now, the universe will just go 'oh, she's a 6350 that was summoned a few months ago', or something like that?

But how about this.

What if in the off chance you didn't know the 'truth' of that timeline? Because we're from the 'future', to them -- we can speculate things that happen. There are things we do know. But only those facts would have to stay in place, right?

If the rest of it is a mystery inside a proverbial cat box, then... would that even work?

Well, Mikado still changed a bunch of things when he went to my time. He's the one who invented the Master Program after all - when Misane-chan came to my time, she didn't even know what BitPhones were, and she didn't have a connection to the system. So I think the main factors that change are whatever you individually affect!

That's pretty weird, but I guess that makes sense, a little?

But I don't think that's how it works for everywhere, unfortunately! It's a little too convenient.

Time traveling is... tricky... [he frowns] In my world, after I time traveled back to the past to try and fix things... I kind of... became "unstuck"? Like I didn't belong in any times anymore. It's hard to explain. I think it's because I changed the past and made the future I come from disappear, so I don't really exist anymore?

Ahahah... it is.... Basically, I have no idea what would happen if you tried to do it here.

And really, we can't be certain which rules of Time Travel that is going to apply - given anyone with such abilities are liable to operate under one of three aspects:

The first one is the least desirable: The Single Continnum or Closed Loop, where nothing changes - and in fact, traveling back is a necessary part of events.

Second is Fixed points, where large events are unchanging, and minor things within can be altered. So a chance there will alter the now that those involved with time-travel can observe, but no one else will notice. The question remains of course: Is the failure of this rescue team is a fixed point or a malleable one?

The Third is where every event can be changed for good or ill. This one usually results in branching universes, where we won't see the results, but the Us in another timeline will experience the events of the hypothetical you rescuing Tages twenty years ago.

In that order.

FTR we won't actually know what rules this universe uses anyway, since either everyone's memories change to fit the new timeline or ONLY the time traveler remembers the changes happening.

And of course, no one is going to believe a man raving about how he changed the world's timeline.

Especially if he claims events generally accepted to be inevitable, weren't - such as preventing World War I.

It sounds like you have some personal experience there.

Maybe after all of this we need to have some sort of movie-slash-series marathon of stupid time travel shows.

haha its a shame we dont have mister zelretch here! he’d be able to use his magic which is pretty much perfect for this sort of situation!

i mean i was able to control the kaleidoscope but it was pretty exhausting and i could only do it for a couple minutes www
