A surprise meeting...?

Something important has come up. Please meet me at Site 4 at 3pm local time. If you are unable to meet in person, you can conference call in.

[The notification also provides the details necessary to get in on the call.

For those who can arrive in person, there is a conference room with chairs situated in rows, not unlike a mission briefing room would be arranged. There is even a projector set up and hooked up to a computer, and a pair of cameras set up to record both the projector screen and the seating area. Frisk is also there, but they are busy setting up the video feeds and making sure everyone can patch in on the call. They are oddly focused, with a frown spread across their face and barely a glance spared at anyone who walks it.

If Frisk is taking things this seriously, then it must be important. So pull up a seat and get ready.]

Well, let's see... I've had a surprisingly high amount of time off lately, and that's... certainly a new experience. It's still kind of weird not having assignments that have me getting shipped between sites, though.

You've all got it right, it has been pretty quiet lately. Honestly, this is tue quietest I've ever seen the Foundation! Which is good for you guys, you really needed a break. Unfortunately, while the relative quiet ever since last summer has been well-earned, it's going to be coming to an end very soon.

This involves the O5s. Specifically, one O5. A few of you- [They glance to Archer specifically.] -should already know who I'm talking about. But before I can get into the details about that, you all need a bit of background on the O5s.

[And this is when Frisk turns on the projector. Look, they drew a really crummy drawing of a flow chart of sorts! Look at this masterpiece.]

So the O5 are the ones that lead this place. If the O5 in question isn't you, then which one is it?

Right, it's not me this time.

There's always been at least five of us, hence the name O5. Sometimes there's more- I made our number six when I joined, for example- but usually it's just the five. To break ties and whatnot, since we usually vote on big things.

The big thing is, us O5s tend to be really long-lived. I'm the youngest, and I'm over 500 years old. So it's not very often that one of us dies or goes missing. We were picked for this job based on the idea that we wouldn't die.

So, basically what happened is we're down to four O5s right now. The good news is that Tages might not be dead! He's a pretty resilient guy, and we never found his body. The bad news is that he's been missing for nearly 20 years now, and 20 years is the maximum amount of time they let an O5 'go missing' before they declare them dead and replace them.

...so a new O5 is being sought out?

And being down one O5 is bad - you're concerned about who will replace this 'Tages'.

Okay.

So this brings up a few questions.

One: if he's not dead, where was the location he was last seen?
Two: if he's not dead and it's nearly 'twenty years', how much time do we have to find him?
And three: if we don't find him in time, is there someone already lined up to replace him?

Twenty years exactly will actually pass in about a week, on March 6th, so we're going to hit that deadline no matter what. The problem is what comes after. There's already a candidate in mind, and once Tages is declared officially dead it's going to take about three months for the last of the paperwork to get through.

And no, it's not a chance for you guys to get in. Only one person present right now qualifies for the position, and he already told me no. The problem here is that I'm only one vote out of four, and while the other three O5s aren't super-attached to their candidate choice, there's not really anyone else to fill the spot.

On June 6th, Mayuri is going to be promoted to O5, and the only way to stop it is to either find Tages or supply someone who is a better candidate.

So you clearly don't want someone to take that free space if you're actually asking us to try and retrieve him. Are the candidates that bad?
