Week 6, Friday

[As the morning rises on Friday, the house seems...quiet. Not quite eerie in the way that a murder might indicate, but there is a tension in the air. Something has happened overnight, but it's hard to tell exactly what.

To find out what is going on, the contestants will have to explore the area.]

[Well first off she will be able to see the scratches on his face instantly. It looks like someone tries to grab onto his head but just barely missed, and scratched up his face instead.]

[Ouch. She'll have to do something about those later.

If nothing else jumps out about his head, she'll start checking lower. Anything up his sleeve?]

[There's totally an ace of spades there- ok no not really.

He looks a bit scuffed up, and there is some gunpowder residue on him too. He definitely fired a gun at some point, the evidence is there. There's also a bruise on his chin, probably from a punch.

Importantly, all of these wounds are fresh. He got them within the last hour.]

[Yikes.

(And she definitely sniffed him to identify the gunpowder residue. Sorry about that.)

Anything else detectable on his person?]

[Not on his person, but his gun is right there. Also he has his phone which may have clues on it.]

[Hm. Let's check out that gun. first. Karen isn't an expert or anything, but she did ace her Foundation firearms training, so she should be able to give it at least a basic examination.]

[There are four bullets missing from the gun.]

[Hmmm.

Karen shows Azura the clip before putting it back.

Time to check out the phone. Is it unlocked or do we have to go through some nonsense here?]

[It's already unlocked, you're good.

There is Pesterchum to check on here. She can look at other stuff too but those aren't clues, just Pesterchum is.]

[Ooh. Time to invade some privacy! Who's he been messaging?]

[He's been messaging TiltedGhostbuster. This is the most recent chunk of their conversation, which happened last night at about 11 pm.]

TG: Yeah he's definitely gone, I ain't seen him in a week.
GT: How do you just lose an entire person?!
TG: He's a slippery guy what can I say.
GT: This is serious! What if he makes it all the way here?
TG: He doesn't even know where you guys are, it's probably fine.
GT: Uh, yes he does? He was given the information on this mission!
TG: Oh.
TG: Shit.
TG: Well I doubt he'll make it all the way there from South America in a week?
GT: UGH!!!!!!!!
GT: If he shows up and shoots me I'm blaming you.
TG: Don't give me no shit I did my part. Your plan was stupid in the first place. And you better keep GG safe or else your ass is mine.
GT: She's probably safer than me at this point.

[Hrrm. How does this timeframe correspond to Karen's adventures last night climbing under trampolines and chasing frozen moose?]

[Incidentally, this conversation takes place maybe an hour tops after that. And, interestingly enough, there is no mention of the moose anywhere in these messages.]

[She'll skim over them a bit for mentions of other significant words. Names of well-known game shows. Mercy. Spare. Foundation. Gigai. Marona. The contestants' names. That sort of thing.

This doesn't seem like the time to go too far back, though.]

[Those things are not in this particular conversation, no. It seems like Dazai has a habit of deleting his conversations after a few days.

So Karen is good! There's nothing left for her to find.]
