Week 4, Friday

Another Thursday night comes, and everyone seems to know what that means. Even with the failure of last week, several people are out on patrol, trying to make sure no murders occur tonight. That motive had been tempting, after all, and keeping people in check when there's the promise of 'going home' on the line is difficult at best.

Moriarty, at least, seems intent on taking advantage of that motive. After slipping out of his room, he walks briskly towards the back yard. His intended target is out there, he knows it, and he wants to get this done quickly before anyone notices he's missing. The stipulation of 'don't get caught' has made this week's motive all the harder to obtain, and he has no intentions of letting anyone get the best of him.

However, Oda is not alone this week. Several people have decided to patrol with him, making for many witnesses to any possible crime. A fact that Moriarty sees instantly as soon as he steps outside.

For a moment, Oda and Moriarty's eyes meet. Oda frowns, because he can figure out exactly what Moriarty is doing out and about at this hour. But he can't say anything, not with the people around him. The goal is to avoid deaths, after all, and speaking up now will just result in Moriarty's death instead of his own. And since Oda won't attack with other people right there to get caught in a firefight and possibly die, he does nothing against this obvious threat.

Karen looks over the edge and sees Moriarty too. In turn, Moriarty smiles and waves up at the group, acting as if nothing bad had been about to happen. Karen waves in return, suspecting nothing. The exchange just makes Oda's frown deepen, but he still says nothing.

Then, once that pleasant exchange is made, Moriarty ducks back inside, heading back to his room before anyone can miss him.

The night passes with no deaths.

Yeah, might be useful. Otete says he sent the others away, so we should be safe. As long as he doesn't catch the scent of blood. [Silver takes out a SCP logo patch] He had himself a snack.

Here. So, you faced your fears, huh?

... I did. He's not that scary. But, I did bring candy as a bribe. I think that helped. He likes peanut butter, too.

Maybe you should bring him a couple jars next time.

[ Might keep him filled up so he won't snack on Silver ]

Not a bad idea! I wonder if he's ever had peanut brittle.... that's like peanut butter AND candy.

Hah... So we'd be able to get out of this stupid House at some point, if we really wanted to make a break for it.

[There's something subdued about the way he says that. Notably he doesn't say anything about the Foundation just now.]

Fuckin' Otete really is just a people-eater, huh.

He's not just a people eater. He called out to me. He wanted us to know about the tunnels.

Well, yeah, probably 'cause he knows what you look like and was thinkin' about having you for a snack.

[Nora that's not helpful. It's mostly offhand, though, distracted as he sifts through the information.]

I don't like the idea of just running away but whatever. Got anything else? Guards? More hands??

If he wanted to eat me, he had a hundred opportunities. I went down there alone with nothing but a flashlight and a lantern. I'm.... not scared of him anymore. I can't afford to be.

[Silver continues on, though]

No other hands -- Otete sent them away because some Foundation guards came down into the caves with guns. There's some simple traps on the ground, though. And I overheard some of the guards from the Foundation site saying they thought the staircase was haunted and no one was allowed down there anymore.

Ha, you're an idiot, but at least you got guts. I should give you a real piece of my mind for not lettin' me check it out too!! I wanna see it!

[Nora snorts, but it does seem to be a real compliment in his weird way. Also have some noogieing because that's also how he expresses his satisfaction, I guess. It's definitely a little more aggressive than usual after the events of earlier but well.]

Doesn't that mean we gotta make it properly haunted again so they don't swarm it. And then deal with all the traps... Ugh, what a pain.

[He sounds thoughtful about it, though.]

GaaaH! Why do you always do that!! [swats at] Anyway, if you want to check it out later this week, we should probably make sure the paths stay clear.

[And he learned it from someone else, absolutely, but that's neither here not there.]

Heh, we just keep findin' more places to patrol around the House. But if we find any of those guys down there I'm totally bagging 'em up for the hand guy to eat.

[At least he's not threatening to eat them himself anymore... he probably used to do that a lot more.....]
