Week 4, Friday

Another Thursday night comes, and everyone seems to know what that means. Even with the failure of last week, several people are out on patrol, trying to make sure no murders occur tonight. That motive had been tempting, after all, and keeping people in check when there's the promise of 'going home' on the line is difficult at best.

Moriarty, at least, seems intent on taking advantage of that motive. After slipping out of his room, he walks briskly towards the back yard. His intended target is out there, he knows it, and he wants to get this done quickly before anyone notices he's missing. The stipulation of 'don't get caught' has made this week's motive all the harder to obtain, and he has no intentions of letting anyone get the best of him.

However, Oda is not alone this week. Several people have decided to patrol with him, making for many witnesses to any possible crime. A fact that Moriarty sees instantly as soon as he steps outside.

For a moment, Oda and Moriarty's eyes meet. Oda frowns, because he can figure out exactly what Moriarty is doing out and about at this hour. But he can't say anything, not with the people around him. The goal is to avoid deaths, after all, and speaking up now will just result in Moriarty's death instead of his own. And since Oda won't attack with other people right there to get caught in a firefight and possibly die, he does nothing against this obvious threat.

Karen looks over the edge and sees Moriarty too. In turn, Moriarty smiles and waves up at the group, acting as if nothing bad had been about to happen. Karen waves in return, suspecting nothing. The exchange just makes Oda's frown deepen, but he still says nothing.

Then, once that pleasant exchange is made, Moriarty ducks back inside, heading back to his room before anyone can miss him.

The night passes with no deaths.

[WHY DOES THE WEIRD GHOST PRINCESS KNOW THIS AND HE DOESN'T this is a disturbance in the force, or really Nora just sucking at details.]

I took first-aid courses. [ she's the healer. duh. ] They're very important to the people who have them, so you should really put it back where you found it.

If someone has an allergic reaction, you're supposed to stab them with it. It can save their life, at least until you get them a doctor.

Eh, first-aid an' healing is lame.

[He probably would have been more adamant about this before... everything here... and everything that's happened. As it is, it sounds more rote than anything, Nora just grumping back at Azura and her judgment.]

Besides, now that you've said that, there's no way I can just hand it over!!

[Nah, they have to have a literal kung fu fight first.]

[....Oh.

Atsushi eyes it with a knowing look.]

Nora, put that back where you found it.

[That is indeed going to be his first thought, utterly and immediately. He's a punk through and through, I don't know what you expected.]

[ Atsushi... he's going to want to keep it away from you even more like this ]

[He's trying to help here, okay?]

[Totally hopping up on the crate he's sitting on and then popping up and away just to keep it away from Atsushi. Bye until the weird furrypile below.]

Yeah it's really good to threaten him. But you're gonna break it if you keep spinning it like that, and then it won't be any good.

[ he holds his hand out ]

I'll keep it safe until then. Give it.

The hell is the point of havin' something important that can break so easily.

[Nora side-eyes the Epi-pen but spins it..... slower?? He's sort of listening?? Kind of.]

You're not just goin' to turn around and give it over, are you?

[He's thinking about it........]

Expensive things break easily. I think it's to make people spend more money to buy it again.

[ he shrugs. he's no manufacturer. ]

Promise. Just thinking that with my gun, and this pen, we could get him to do anything.

Oh, I know what that is. It's like those door-to-door salesmen scams. Her Hagliness was always talkin' about how you can't buy perfume from 'em but I'm pretty sure she just fell for all the scams 'cause she's stupid.

[He talks about 'Her Hagliness' a whole lot sometimes but there really isn't much information other than Nora's salt.]

... You better keep that promise. We don't got all that much leverage unless I can break into his office again.

Rich people do that a lot. Fall for scams.

[ oda nods, with his hand still out and waiting for epi pen ]

Don't worry. I've been meaning to get back at him for a while.

Ha, doesn't get much richer than the ruler of the demon world, I guess.

[Give him a little bit to dodge the double-pronged cat attack here before he finally manages to extricate himself in a true feat of acrobatics, land somewhere under a nearby piece of equipment while using it like a shield and -- yeah, here's the Epi-pen, he'll just yeet it. Be nice, Oda!!]

Fine!! This stupid thing better be worth it...

[Nah, Vanitas. Nah. He's keeping this as LEVERAGE. Or he's just having fun playing keep-away. Either or.]

How the hell am I supposed to know, humans've got way too many random contraptions just lyin' around all of the time.

[ Hearing what it is, he's not going to be playing...

[And Atsushi is sneaking up from the front to block any escape.

Can Nora escape them both?]

Yeah, how about playin' catch RIGHT NOW.

[I don't know how but probably Oda appeal and this are happening somewhat concurrently, there's a lot of choice here. So what Nora is going to do is drop down lower abruptly, working on swinging Vanitas over his shoulders and having him crash into Atsushi. That's the idea here, anyway.

[ He lets himself be flipped over, moving to land on his feet, which might accidentally kick or step on Atsushi? What is even going on.

Spinning to grab the pen while Nora is slowing down his spinning and considering handing it over to Oda.

Nope. That'll be a mistake. ]

[ow. Vanitas would it kill you to work with him here?!

Atsushi lets out a yelp, but he's also going to be aiming to grab Nora by the waist even after Vanitas uses him as a landing pad.]

[The good thing about the current catte problem is that they aren't used to working together, while Nora is at least used to working with the one and beating up on the other, so it's easy for him to find an opening -- he straight up drops to the floor, squashing the pen under him...

And then picks it up in his mouth (that's not sanitary), slithering away like some sort of weird creepy-crawly. I guess Oda's just... possibly... getting this pen. Also Atsushi's getting hella kicked, RIP.]

[ And that's a thing.
