Week 4, Friday
Another Thursday night comes, and everyone seems to know what that means. Even with the failure of last week, several people are out on patrol, trying to make sure no murders occur tonight. That motive had been tempting, after all, and keeping people in check when there's the promise of 'going home' on the line is difficult at best.
Moriarty, at least, seems intent on taking advantage of that motive. After slipping out of his room, he walks briskly towards the back yard. His intended target is out there, he knows it, and he wants to get this done quickly before anyone notices he's missing. The stipulation of 'don't get caught' has made this week's motive all the harder to obtain, and he has no intentions of letting anyone get the best of him.
However, Oda is not alone this week. Several people have decided to patrol with him, making for many witnesses to any possible crime. A fact that Moriarty sees instantly as soon as he steps outside.
For a moment, Oda and Moriarty's eyes meet. Oda frowns, because he can figure out exactly what Moriarty is doing out and about at this hour. But he can't say anything, not with the people around him. The goal is to avoid deaths, after all, and speaking up now will just result in Moriarty's death instead of his own. And since Oda won't attack with other people right there to get caught in a firefight and possibly die, he does nothing against this obvious threat.
Karen looks over the edge and sees Moriarty too. In turn, Moriarty smiles and waves up at the group, acting as if nothing bad had been about to happen. Karen waves in return, suspecting nothing. The exchange just makes Oda's frown deepen, but he still says nothing.
Then, once that pleasant exchange is made, Moriarty ducks back inside, heading back to his room before anyone can miss him.
The night passes with no deaths.

[ Silver nods] Well, if there’s traps on the ground, then I’ll just levitate. [time to follow a monster hand! What could possibly gonwrong]

[Down and down they go! Eventually they will reach the bottom of the stairs, which opens up into a huge natural cave. And there's several snare traps on the ground, but Silver can avoid them easily.
Otete points in one of the two directions that the cave goes. ]
That's the way. It's not far.

[He stops at the crossroads, shining his light down the other tunnel ]
What’s the other way?
no subject
[Luckily Silver isn't prey, so.
When he shines his light, he will see traps scattered on the ground. They're pretty easy to avoid with the light there. Otete is avoiding the light too, by the way.]
The other way leads out, to the water. It's a long walk.
no subject
[Even if it is a little creepy, still.... and that's fine -- Silver figured the hand-thing probably prefers the darkness, so he makes an effort not to shine the light directly at him]
To the water, huh.
[might be useful, if they need to make a secret escape. He turns back toward the other tunnel and keeps going]

But today, Silver's path will take him through a tunnel and to another set of stairs. These stairs seem to fit the style of typical Foundation compounds, too.]
There. The men came out of there.

Thanks, Otete. You should stay down here, I wouldn't want you to get hurt.
[He'll carefully climb the stairs, floating to stay more quiet, and on the lookout for any cameras or the like...]
no subject
[There are no cameras in the stairwell, but there is one just outside of the staircase, when Silver reaches the basement of the compound.]

"I can't believe the stairs are haunted."
"Yep. At least we know not to send anyone down there now."
"But should we lock the door?"
"Nah, those things hate light. With the spotlights there we'll be fine. Plus, Charlie is still down there somewhere, he might come back."
"Charlie ain't coming back, man."
[And they walk away and out of earshot.]

Once Silver figures he's gotten all he's going to get, he heads quietly back down the stairs, into the darkness]
Well, the good news is you scared the crap out of them, Otete -- they said they won't be coming back down this way. ... I guess that can be good AND bad, though... is there anything else you eat besides people and candy?
no subject
I do like peanut butter though. Peanut butter is good.
Oh right. If you need to come back, go ahead. I told the others not to come around here for a while. Dunno if you need to go through these stairs or not, but they have useful stuff in their base.
[Or that other tunnel might be good for a hasty exit if things go bad.]
no subject
I appreciate it, Otete. You've been a big help. I may have to move your snares if we go through here, but I promise I'll put them back, ok?

Also checking back during week 5 is a good idea too, just to make sure the tunnel is still clear.]
