Week 4, Friday
Another Thursday night comes, and everyone seems to know what that means. Even with the failure of last week, several people are out on patrol, trying to make sure no murders occur tonight. That motive had been tempting, after all, and keeping people in check when there's the promise of 'going home' on the line is difficult at best.
Moriarty, at least, seems intent on taking advantage of that motive. After slipping out of his room, he walks briskly towards the back yard. His intended target is out there, he knows it, and he wants to get this done quickly before anyone notices he's missing. The stipulation of 'don't get caught' has made this week's motive all the harder to obtain, and he has no intentions of letting anyone get the best of him.
However, Oda is not alone this week. Several people have decided to patrol with him, making for many witnesses to any possible crime. A fact that Moriarty sees instantly as soon as he steps outside.
For a moment, Oda and Moriarty's eyes meet. Oda frowns, because he can figure out exactly what Moriarty is doing out and about at this hour. But he can't say anything, not with the people around him. The goal is to avoid deaths, after all, and speaking up now will just result in Moriarty's death instead of his own. And since Oda won't attack with other people right there to get caught in a firefight and possibly die, he does nothing against this obvious threat.
Karen looks over the edge and sees Moriarty too. In turn, Moriarty smiles and waves up at the group, acting as if nothing bad had been about to happen. Karen waves in return, suspecting nothing. The exchange just makes Oda's frown deepen, but he still says nothing.
Then, once that pleasant exchange is made, Moriarty ducks back inside, heading back to his room before anyone can miss him.
The night passes with no deaths.

So uh
Enjoy having a pretty much useless teammate, blue team. She's just kind of staring blankly at the toothpicks.]

It's okay, you can take a nap if you want to, Saki. This is really easy, we just need the proper materials.
no subject
Sorry... I'm really not used to staying up so late.

[She rubs wearily at her eyes with one hand.]
Anyway... if you're really okay with it, I think I will take a nap. [She needs to catch up on as much sleep as possible before tomorrow, and she knows this.] Still, please wake me up with some time before judging.

[Hold on. Karen needs to yawn and stretch.]

[...she says that, but now she's trying to get two toothpicks to stick together without having glued them, so maybe they should just leave it to Inaba.]

[She looks back down and suddenly realizes she has no idea what she could possibly have been trying to accomplish.]
Oh. You're... probably right.

Thanks for yesterday. Try to take it easy today.

You didn't really stick to that promise, did you? [A sip, and then a pause to swallow.] Or maybe you never really agreed to it in the first place.
[Deciding to try to go out on his own like that.]

[ no need to talk about his very obvious very real fear of james moriarty in front of everyone else. ]

[Siiiiiip.]

Are you giving us more materials?
no subject
[ Maybe he took it from another team. ]
Looks like you were up all night.
no subject
[Nearly, because she dozed off eventually.]
But we didn't have any deaths, so it was worth it.
no subject
[ Lowering his voice as he plops down next to her. ]
You can do better.
no subject
She casts him a confused look, weary.]
What?
no subject
[ Pushing some tooth picks over to her. ]
no subject
You're so weird.
[But there's a bit of affection to the words, and she'll give his shoulder a tiny baby shove so she doesn't touch him for too long.
She's learning. And she's also taking the toothpicks, arranging them in front of her on the table by hand.]

It's part of my charm.
