WEEK 1 MINGLE

As dawn approaches on Monday, the contestants are greeted to a beautiful, sunny day. It's the first full week of their time in the house, and after the rather troubling introduction on Saturday it's hard to know just what to expect

For the first week, the surrounding area seems quiet and peaceful. The weather stays a nice 75 degrees during the day, and it dips down to the 50s at night. Comfortable, and without any real disturbances from nature or house. It's almost as if the whole weekend was just a bad dream, and maybe the actual game won't be as bad as Dazai made it out to me.

However, those rules and profiles are still hanging in the living room, a constant reminder of the warnings that have been given. What will happen now? There haven't been any deaths at this containment site in years, but will that change with these new rules? Only time will tell.

Perhaps it's a good idea to enjoy this first week. Go swimming, watch a movie, or just hang out together and get to know each other better. You never know, this might be the last time to see some of the contestants.

Do you know what a kotatsu is? You spoke Japanese to me and your name is Japanese, but I want to be sure in case they don't exist where you're from or something.

[That's gonna be a no. She'll let the blanket drop over him, tucking her now freed arm under her knees.]

[ Hmm, he'll evaluate his comfort level in a sec, first off: ]

It's a low table, blanket, and space heater combined into the comfiest thing ever during the winter!

[ He's using his hands to sorta illustrate that it's like a sandwich. Or smores. ]

Oh... It doesn't catch fire?

Nope! It uses a special electric heater. I'm pretty they're made so that doesn't happen, fires and all that.

[ He laughs though, finally settling in. ]

You could have the blanket just over your lap if you wanted to use the table, or you can just tuck yourself under with you head sticking out. It's great for studying.

That sounds really comfortable. Have you ever seen one at one of the sites?

[ He shakes his head. ]

I'm too new I think, and the sites I've been to aren't based on a modern Japanese home. I'd get all homesick.

[ He sinks into the blanket. ]

But I'll ask for one if I can, later.
