WEEK 1 MINGLE

As dawn approaches on Monday, the contestants are greeted to a beautiful, sunny day. It's the first full week of their time in the house, and after the rather troubling introduction on Saturday it's hard to know just what to expect

For the first week, the surrounding area seems quiet and peaceful. The weather stays a nice 75 degrees during the day, and it dips down to the 50s at night. Comfortable, and without any real disturbances from nature or house. It's almost as if the whole weekend was just a bad dream, and maybe the actual game won't be as bad as Dazai made it out to me.

However, those rules and profiles are still hanging in the living room, a constant reminder of the warnings that have been given. What will happen now? There haven't been any deaths at this containment site in years, but will that change with these new rules? Only time will tell.

Perhaps it's a good idea to enjoy this first week. Go swimming, watch a movie, or just hang out together and get to know each other better. You never know, this might be the last time to see some of the contestants.

[This is getting a raised eyebrow as Azula tosses her hair over her shoulder.]

Please. Why would I find it thrilling to be stuck in this dump of a house with all of you?

[ She just stands there and crosses her arms. ]

Even when it's you, I wouldn't want to assume either way.

[Azula laughs at that. Not harshly or mockingly. She's actually genuinely a little amused by this.]

Please. I'm not a monster. I've had enough of being cooped up by the Foundation. I'm sure you must be tired of it, too.

...Yes, I am, as unfortunately our superiors in the Foundations seem to be rather fond of making it possible to Agents. I can only imagine they would be less so if it happened to them.

[ It's not quite obvious, but some part of her feels a bit relieved. Granted, they've usually gotten off to the wrong foot considering their polarizing personalities, so some part of Aqua isn't surprised she'd be in the dark. ]

[Azula goes back to reclining on the tanning chair.]

Then again, the Foundation did, give me some time away from some despicables.

[A beat.]

Though I suppose there's never any respite from her. I'll kill her one day though

...You're really that determined?

[ That's...well, Aqua supposed even knowing Azula from the times they've been on them mission, she can't help but be kind of surprised about that concerning family. ]
momsters: (smiling sweetly)

[personal profile] momsters 2019-06-27 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
But of course.

[A beat.]

Do you believe in destiny, Aqua?

[personal profile] mastersdefender 2019-06-27 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
[ Curioser and curioser, really. ]

...To an extent. What's made you ask?
momsters: (face hiding)

[personal profile] momsters 2019-06-27 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well.

[She sits up again, leaning forward.]

I believe in destiny. I was born to rule over the Fire Nation. Or so I thought. I realize now that it was her destiny to destroy me ... which leaves me very little choice if I am to fulfil mine, doesn't it.

[She straightens up a little.]

So why do you only believe in it to an extent?

[ To think that this kind of discussion should happen...but destiny is never left to chance. ]

I believe in destiny, because everyone is born with some kind of purpose throughout the entire multiverse.

Destiny can foretell that the worlds are fated to be shrouded in shadow and everlasting darkness, but it doesn't mean that it'll come to pass.

I believe that destiny is something that we ultimately make with our own hands, and it can change at any time, even if it seems like something spoken by the people we consider the most wise. So, I don't honestly really subscribe to the extent of it being as something that's honestly final; if I did, then I think I would've been lost a long time ago.

[ ... ]

I think there are a lot of ways to break free from her "destiny" to destroy you, instead of only one way.

[She's silent for a long moment after that. Her expression contemplative, before she scowls.]

You're sounding like my brother.

[And from her tone of voice, it's pretty clear that ain't a compliment.]

He said all sorts of curious things because he was born weak.

[She taps at her chin.]

I was born strong though.

Even if he was born weak, I can only wonder now with you saying those things, where he's ended up now.

[ Aqua says calmly, and there's clearly a sense of tranquil defiance in her tone as her blue eyes flicker right back onto Azula's. ]
