As dawn approaches on Monday, the contestants are greeted to a beautiful, sunny day. It's the first full week of their time in the house, and after the rather troubling introduction on Saturday it's hard to know just what to expect

For the first week, the surrounding area seems quiet and peaceful. The weather stays a nice 75 degrees during the day, and it dips down to the 50s at night. Comfortable, and without any real disturbances from nature or house. It's almost as if the whole weekend was just a bad dream, and maybe the actual game won't be as bad as Dazai made it out to me.

However, those rules and profiles are still hanging in the living room, a constant reminder of the warnings that have been given. What will happen now? There haven't been any deaths at this containment site in years, but will that change with these new rules? Only time will tell.

Perhaps it's a good idea to enjoy this first week. Go swimming, watch a movie, or just hang out together and get to know each other better. You never know, this might be the last time to see some of the contestants.

Mercy allows us to end the battle peacefully, right? It can't hurt checking it out, I suppose.

[ He would be more weirded out by the residue if not for, uh. A vast majority of the things that can be found in the Metaverse...

[Under [MERCY], [SPARE] is still white, but [FLEE] is now yellow.

Time for more battle tutorial dialogue!]

If you choose to [FLEE] from battle, you will not gain any rewards. Using [SPARE], on the other hand, gives you money and items.

[So does the group want to [FLEE]? Or do they want to go back and find another way to unlock the [SPARE] option?]

...I'm interested in what the other options are. [and the 'rewards' to be honest]

We could check out items? Or play tug of war, but I don't trust that to turn out well.

If we spare, we stand more to gain, so buttering up the dog could be good. Maybe more petting could work out well and if the dog seems playful, we could consider tug of war later.

But, I'm also fine with looking at our items right now.

Items works for me, as well.

[The [ITEMS] menu opens up! From there, the options are [OZAKI], [AQUA], and [AKECHI].

And then some explanation, of course:]

The party can use any item that is currently on one of its members. Food and drink items will heal team HP, and non-consumable items may have an effect on the battle. You may use one item per turn.

WARNING: choosing a person's name will open up their personal inventory. No items on their person will remain undisclosed.

Well, we don't need to open up anyone's inventory. Let's focus on the battle and making the dog friendlier with us.

Does another round of petting sound good to everyone?

[He's curious of the items, but can leave it alone for the moment.]

[ His eyes narrow at the item command information for a moment. ]

I can't say I'm surprised... [ sighing and nodding ] All right, let's give that another go, then.

[The petting gets the exact same result. Enjoy more Dog Residue, Aqua.

Ozaki isn't a dog person but he's willing to step forward if it makes this go faster]

Shall we tug of war then?

[ He laughs and nods. ]

I have no objections.

[ Play away!!! ]

[Ozaki is able to play tug of war with the THIEF DOG! THIEF DOG seems to like this a lot and playfully growls while tugging on the swimming shorts that are being used in this game.

It looks like the shorts are starting to rip, though. Will Ozaki keep tugging, or will he let go?]

[Ozaki will let go]

[The shorts, thankfully, only have a tiny tear in them. But THIEF DOG is still holding onto the shorts.

But hey! [SPARE] Is yellow now!]

Should we go for it, then?

Yes, let's spare him.

Agreed. Nice work, everyone!

[ He's smiling brightly, like he just had the time of his fucking life here......

TIME TO SLAM DOWN ON SPARE OPTION, THEN, figuratively or literally. ]

[With [SPARE] chosen, the image of the THIEF DOG fades, and they get this dialogue:]

You won!

You gained 0 EXP, 3 GOLD, and 1 pair of slightly torn swimming trunks!

[The battle screen fades, and the trio are left in the yard with their spoils.]

...yes, good job everyone.

We can divide the gold between the three of us. One for each, and...

[ Pause.... ]

....whoever wants the trunks can take them.

[ Because why would she have need for those. Also who knows where they've been. ]

Akechi can have them. I don't care for swimming.

[He'll take the 1 gold doubloon though, holding it towards the light.]

[ He smiles and accepts his share of the gold, YAY SHINY!!! ]

Ah...

[ JUST. Holds these shorts up... and stares at them for a moment. ]

Maybe if they were fixed?

[ And the verdict is out. ]

I guess I could sew them up. Just...make sure you wash them before handing them over.
