WEEK 1 MINGLE

As dawn approaches on Monday, the contestants are greeted to a beautiful, sunny day. It's the first full week of their time in the house, and after the rather troubling introduction on Saturday it's hard to know just what to expect

For the first week, the surrounding area seems quiet and peaceful. The weather stays a nice 75 degrees during the day, and it dips down to the 50s at night. Comfortable, and without any real disturbances from nature or house. It's almost as if the whole weekend was just a bad dream, and maybe the actual game won't be as bad as Dazai made it out to me.

However, those rules and profiles are still hanging in the living room, a constant reminder of the warnings that have been given. What will happen now? There haven't been any deaths at this containment site in years, but will that change with these new rules? Only time will tell.

Perhaps it's a good idea to enjoy this first week. Go swimming, watch a movie, or just hang out together and get to know each other better. You never know, this might be the last time to see some of the contestants.

[She pauses, looking up.]

Hm?

Ooooone of my boyfriends is the protagonist of that.

[She looks down at it again, before pointing at Ichigo]

This one?

Yeah, that's Ichigo. He's pretty grumpy looking, but he's honestly a huge softie.

[allmyfriendsaredead]

[She shuts the manga with a smile.]

Tell me more about him?

[dereban]

About Ichigo?

[ She hums a little bit inquisitively. ] Geez, I don't know where to start. I met him at the Hotel, when he was already dead. He's a shinigami, so. The two of us communicated a lot through tablets at first. I learned that he wrote poems as a hobby and a lot of other things.

He's. . . a dumbass, though. The kind of person that would do so much to help others. Really, honestly reckless.

[ There's fondness in her voice. ]

But he's not a bad person. I haven't seen him in a long while, though. . .

[She smiles as Inaba speaks, though it does fall a bit at the end.]

Is he the one in containment?

[dereban]

Yeah. It isn't for anything he's done, though-- it's just. Certain people consider him to be 'too important'. I guess that's what I get for dating one person with strong abilities.

[allmyfriendsaredead]

...I see. I'm sorry you can't see him, then.

[She can't really offer anything other than that. She definitely doesn't have the clearance to fix it.]

[dereban]

It's okay.

[ Her voice is a little quiet. ] I just try not to think about it too much. Besides, I still have. . .

It was another Atsushi, right?

[She's overheard that much what with the. Discussions.]

Could you tell me more about him? He's different from the one I know here, isn't he?

[dereban]

. . . Yeah. They're actually similar in a lot of ways, but they are different, too. I don't like comparing and contrasting them, though, since they're both their own people.

[ She has to keep saying that because it's the truth. ]

Atsushi-- the one I know, he's pretty awkward sometimes. His self esteem is pretty shitty, and it comes from a dark place. But he's trying his best to improve himself, and I honestly believe that he can.

He's also just pretty easy to talk to, about home. We're not from the same Japan, but we're from the same city. Not to mention that he's supported me a lot. And I've supported him. I'd do anything to protect him.

[ It's kind of funny how firm she is on that. ]

So... alternate versions of the same place?

[She's pretty much wrapped her head around this by now, although she also assumes she won't know the places the same way the majority here do.]

Are they similar enough that you can talk about the same locations?

[dereban]

Yeah. Yokohama's pretty iconic, so it's easy to talk about.

Yokohama... I've heard of it, but I don't know much about what it's like.

It's the second biggest city in Japan and is known as a port city-- at least, in my world, anyway. I'm pretty sure it's the same in Atsushi's, too.

And the first is... Tokyo?

[dereban]

Yeah, that's right.

Tokyo has a completely different reputation where I'm from...

[It's still weird.]

Is it too much to ask you to describe Yokohama?

[dereban]

What kind of reputation? Back home, it's the capital...

Something like... a legendary place?

[Hell is. Technically legendary.]

Most people only rarely leave the Holy Barrier, and we don't even go to other communities outside of our villages.

[But photos sound good! She nods at that, shifting so she'll have a better view.]

[dereban]

I wouldn't call it that, really.

[ But she does pull up her phone and quickly goes to her images before making sure she shows Saki one of Yokohama proper. ]

It's honestly really gorgeous at night.

I'm sure your version is much different from ours, anyway.

[She'll take a look though, tucking her hair behind her ear so it doesn't get in the way.]
