[uuuuuuuugghhh] Time stuff... What a headache. [but... not a problem for him... Speaking of...] Wait, are there differences in time flow between the Foundation and my own world?

Probably. I can check for you, if you want. Just tell me the date it was when you left your world, and I can let you know the date now.

[chaoscontrol]

[Shadow rattles off a date about 4.5 months ago]

[Give him a moment, he has to close his eyes and focus for a moment, searching out just the right Fragment...

But a few seconds later, he gives a date about a week after the one Shadow gave.]

[Shadow sighs, relieved]

Good. The world hasn't been without this for long, then. [he regards the emerald in his hand] That should be our destination once we drop off everyone that wishes to leave. I will speak to Rouge about her... special skills. She's never going to believe all this...

[foundfate]

Is that your friend that steals everything? Because if so she needs a babysitter if she comes here.

[chaoscontrol]

Well, thankfully for all of us, I'm apparently a world-class babysitter. [oh the shade] She isn't interested in anything that isn't sparkly or shiny, anyway. [Shadow hums thoughtfully, talking outloud but mostly to himself] I don't really want any of them going on the mission itself... I don't want to put them in danger.. but if that blue hedgehog catches wind of all this, that innocent people are in danger somewhere, he'll insist... ugh...

Oh, so I can distract her with jewels that aren't magical. Good to know.

Maybe if they met me in person first, that would help? Then they could see that I can handle things and they don't need to get involved.

[He is a noodle person who passes out at the drop of a hat and has no physical skills and who gets kidnapped from time to time. He will probably get the opposite of what he is expecting.]

Oh yes, anything sufficiently beautiful will catch her eye. She has an eye for fakes, though.

[Shadow looks at Watanuki and pulls a face] M-maybe. [he can't just tell him "no, that will make it worse".... Sorry Watanuki, you are a squishy mage] They... probably need to meet you, anyway, just to corroborate this wild story of mine.

I could just send one of my birds with you again. Anyone who can sense magic should be able to recognize it as my familiar.

[Speaking of which, remember that bird Watanuki sent with Shadow during the whole Foundation thing?

It didn't come back with Shadow.]

[chaoscontrol]

[Shadow shakes his head] That won't work. We'll just say they have the magical sense of blocks of wood, and leave it at that. My world is more technology based than magic. The only reason I can detect magic is due to my chaos energy core. [Knuckles might be able to, what with his magic rock guardian bit] .... Wait... the bird...!

[Shadow looks around, a bit frantic] I was sure it was with me when I teleported back to that room!

[foundfate]

[Watanuki frowns, and he focuses intently for a few seconds.]

Well I can still feel it, so it didn't get lost in the Sea...Maybe it got stuck on that side, back at the Foundation?

[chaoscontrol]

[Shadow frowns, ears folded against his head.]

Shit. ... I'm so sorry....

[foundfate]

I'm not worried about it. It's a small piece of my soul, and it can hide if need be. I doubt anyone will even be able to see it for what it is. Though I suppose we could ask the others if they have seen it.

[chaoscontrol]

[Shadow doesn't seem relieved. It was a piece of Watanuki he was supposed to keep track of and protect, and he failed to do that. And now it's stuck at the Foundation?]

Mmmph....

[...aww Shadow.

Watanuki is going to reach down to pat Shadow on the head.]

It's alright. Truthfully having a piece of my soul there should help with the time difference problems. Keeping a connection open is easier if a piece of 'me' is over there.

[Watanuki is one of the few people who can get away with patting him without also getting a handful of quills]

I suppose so... they're.... just... [so dumb. the birds are dumb. wheatley dumb. he is worried] Hopefully it will stay hidden...

I made that one smart enough to follow you. Hopefully it's smart enough to stay hidden.

[Hopefully. And he's being careful of the quills too, because even if Shadow is allowing it they still be sharp.]

[he sighs] I hope you're right. If they find it, they'll do more than just crush it.

[another sigh, and he folds his arms and looks up at the shop]

So. This is the real thing.

[yeah, let's not worry too much about the bird for now, that would make Watanuki anxious.

Yes, it is. Unfortunately it doesn't have infinite rooms, so some of the more temporary guests will have to share. But I can clean out one of the upstairs rooms for you to use.

[Shadow grins] How did you know that was what I was going to ask? [he shrugs] I don't need much room -- I can take the smallest.
