WEEK 7
Seven weeks.
Seven long, long weeks.
But with the final trial and the deaths of four of their own, the game would be over this week...right? 🗈
Seven long, long weeks.
But with the final trial and the deaths of four of their own, the game would be over this week...right? 🗈
All the truth was theirs to know, along with other things.
And now, the survivors had a task ahead of them...
...Would they be able to end everything on a high note?
...Or would it only end....bittersweetly...?

[It's a playful sing-song purr of a greeting as the other demon leans over the back of Buer's seat. He looks down to peek at the book over his non-catted shoulder, wings rustling softly with the movement.]

It's far more the lazy ease of a relaxing predator despite the white-to-black stork wings on his back.
Anyone that approaches will be treated with red eyes lifting to them, a slow smile... and a light wave, revealing his left sleeve has an opening cut over the wrist, a third ruby red eye staring out from it.]

...Actually, for most of the day, you can find Moriarty In this outfit on the beach, sipping a tropical looking drink while relaxing in a beach chair.
Though he does eventually go back inside, apparently working on some calculations in the first floor library. And after a moment, he scowls, making a displeased - and worried - sound.]

I suppose it wouldn't work here.
[Later on, he can be seen in his room, door open as he sighs in annoyance at how starkly clean his room is - not even a pencil smudge was left on his desk, and all of his notebooks, weeks of meticulous writing just flat out gone.
In order to calm his head about the loss of all that work, and seeing Buer, he is taking a stroll in the garden, lighting a cigarette as he ruminated over the past week]

Meeting
Sora is there with the book. ]
I thought it would be a good idea to give everyone a chance to catch up or review the story. There are now words on the pages! Everything is there but the last part.
Our leading lady in the story softened or removed her wrong doings in the story.
[ And thanks to Takumi and Toby’s hard work, Sora can actually share this in more details. Ticking off each point with his fingers as he does his best to list them all… ]
Her family wasn’t as happy as she made it out to be. Her father was actually abusive towards her mother and he set their house on fire.
Nirrti wanted to save the mother of her love to make sure he would marry her. She may have experimented on the child before giving her blood to try to cure him. She also joked that a witch made it.
The people in her town did try to help her out. They shared bread with her and even thanked her. They didn’t believe the witch accusations and even told that guy- you know the one who wanted his daughter to get married? They told him to leave.
And I think he only pushed it to make sure his daughter was taken care of! He didn’t want her to struggle like he did. He wasn’t out to hurt Nirrti. It doesn't make what he did right. He gave into his fear. His daughter even tried to convince him not to.
Then he regretted it. He fought hard to stop it from happening! And I think others regretted it as well. They gave her blankets and were hoping that the sunshine would prove the land wasn’t cursed. They didn't say it though. They didn't band together. They just let it happen and hoped for the best.
It wasn't everyone against her, but just enough were scared...
They didn't save her and she hated them for it.
A part of her stayed there! Her hatred and her emotions were still alive and over the years. She was struggling to remember why she was even there after so long. She just knew she was hurt and wanted to get back at someone. She was split between not wanting to hurt any one any more, and still hurting others to make herself feel better.
There is something more we realized before the end. It’s clear she’s trying to separate herself from her human counterpart. She wants us to acknowledge that the witch and the human are different beings, when really they are the same. I think it would fuel that she’s no longer what she used to be, but that’s not true. Somewhere inside of her she still remembers. She says it herself...
Come, remember. What kind of misfortune did you suffer?
I think Gebura was onto something. Not only do we need to give her back her true name, but we should give her a new title. The Witch of Fortune. We need to get her to accept that she’s both the human and the witch. We have all the pieces for that we just need the right time!
We figured out her true name thanks to Sakura and Takumi. I think her other name may have been Lotus then if the book Takumi found translated it right. I’ll let Takumi share what her true name is, but we shouldn’t confront her with it yet. Trust me, we’ll know when it’s time and right now it’s not the time. We can do this, we just need to work together. Remember the bonds we all have with each other and what’s at stake here. Everyone is depending on us and I don’t think it’s just us here. It feels like there’s something more hanging in the balance...
I think that’s about all I have. Takumi and Toby have been keeping notes if anyone wants to see!
[ Gestures at his super smart friendo.

The hound keeper, for his part, is in the same uniform as before. So you're pretty sure this is him.
Except his hair is orange this week, and the style is distinctly a little different even if it's still quite long and still reminds you of someone else who definitely isn't here. The eyes are warm and brown, and he's a little more genial this week, it seems. There's a welcoming grin for passersby along with a small tip of his black hat.
... Who is this, though, seriously.]

TUESDAY
....
It's not immediately apparent - yet, a look towards the sea and beach...will show you what changed.
...
The entire sea around them, and the beach....is gone.
In their place...Is the Sea of Fragments, just like the one in the second floor library, countless crystal shards floating past, showing visions of their worlds in their reflections.
The land that touches the sea, is...cracking, little by little being dissolved into the Sea....]

MEETING: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
Alright, since everything is definitely getting a lot worse here now, I think it’s only right that everyone here knows the truth. I’ll… take responsibility for my actions, if necessary. [ He glances away for a second, muttering under his breath: ] ...I’m sorry. I hope you can forgive me for telling them now.
[ But then he clears his throat and continues: ]
We don’t know what will happen moving forward, and we need to share as much as we can. If anyone else also found anything, feel free to share.
There are a few things I should address first, but, the first pressing concern that is probably on everyone’s minds: for the time being, everyone that has died — their souls are currently safe. Some of you might have already assumed that, considering that we came back pretty easily. But I’ll confirm it right now for everyone.
I’m sorry that I didn’t bring it up yesterday - I didn’t want to put the others in potential danger, but now that we are all in danger, [ of shit hitting the fan ] I thought that it would be for the best to put everything out on the table.
I’ll answer as many questions as I can regarding this, but I think the information that people might have found about our current situation might be more pertinent - to see if there’s anything we can do to be proactive about it and figure things out as soon as we possibly can.

WEDNESDAY
... ...
That every part of the island except the areas surrounding the mansion are gone.
Like before, going outside and near the sea leads to those feelings of wanting to let go of yourself, but you're still fine as long as you stay inside the mansion.

Re: WEDNESDAY
The relevance of this information is that, when she wakes up around 7 this fine(?) Wednesday morning and takes a look out her window, she doesn't even bother to change out of it before she goes around knocking on everyone's doors until she gets a response (or meets that person elsewhere). Any sort of acknowledgement gets roughly the same response:]
We're moving to the ballroom.
[Once that's done, the next time she's seen she'll be dressed... and dragging her mattress through the halls from her room to a corner of the ballroom. She'll help anyone who wants to do the same.
Later she'll be preparing/gathering supplies, a task that mostly brings her to the kitchen to try to put food together.]

Of course, they might be in here to take shelter from the encroaching

THURSDAY
THE BEGINNING OF THE END
The noise of the building itself falling into the sea, wood creaking and groaning outside of the ballroom.
Yet, it seems like the center - the ballroom itself - is the thing that will be dissolved last, as opening the doors will show the hallways outside being quickly eaten.
They've lost the opportunity to run - and now, all they have...is merely time to wait until the Sea comes for them.
...In addition, everyone and everything besides them are gone. No demons or servants - only them and the items they brought in.]

COLLAPSE INTO THE SEA
until the door suddenly dissolves away, revealing only the Sea as the walls around them begin to crack.
The sea eats away at everything, and anything not around Watanuki is dissolved, until -
There is only the stable spot around Watanuki protecting them from the Sea,, the beautiful starry majesty of it all around them, glimmers of fragments floating around them.
It's like diving into space, almost.]
