WEEK 1 - TRIAL

It's been a long night, with the knowledge burning in your brain that one of your number has died. Even if the victim wasn't known very well, this dangerous game of Mafia was still played, and that might be the worst of all. Not only that, but the Apprentice's warning still rings heavy in your minds - especially after seeing the state of Szayel's body.
The Lady appears for once when everyone is gathered, leading you all up the stairs to the third floor, past whatever glimpses of the upper floors you might get. The room she takes you to is, frankly, extravagant. There's snacks and drinks waiting inside, along with....a new person? It's a man, and as The Lady leaves and closes the doors behind her, the man tilts his head up and speaks.
"You can call me The Captain. Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"
He taps on a box on the table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'
"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. Not voting, well...That's a lot like not playing. And trust me - you want to play."
The man sits down at the table, leaning back and placing his feet on the table while crossing his arms.
"So get to it."
As he says that, music begins to play in the room...
30 GUESTS REMAIN.

Look at me. Don't be afraid, alright? Take care of yourself. Snake and Bennings can care for you. And I won't really be gone, anyway- remember the ghosts? I'll still be here, and still watch you. Ok?
I love you. You're a good boy, Archimedes. Don't let anyone hurt you, and protect the people who protect you. Find a way out of here with everyone else, and find your way home.
And, ah. Tell Misha I love him. And the rest of the flock.

This place is Hell, Medic. I can't believe this place is full of assholes who want you dead.

Having been to Hell myself, I can't share the same sentiment. And there's plenty of people who want me dead, my friend. I'm sure many of them would be celebrating right now, if they could hear.

[As weird as this guy is, she does have to admit he's pretty damn smart and probably someone she'd want on her side.]
no subject
[IE that people wouldn't really trust him after that point]
At least Bennings survives another day.

Let's hope that you come back a ghost. We'll need as much input as we can if we want to catch this thing.
no subject
I'm sorry we couldn't find the killer...

But somewhere down the line he'd started to challenge that. He wasn't just surviving, but trying to live, now. He walks a little closer to Medic, and places a hand on his shoulder - gently, not to disturb the bird. He squeezes his grip, less reassuring and more trying to hold on, and maintain stability.
His voice, as ever, comes out gravelly - he's trying to keep it level.]
We'll take good care of him.
no subject
Thank you. I knew you would.
[Archimedes looks up at Snake and almost seems to nod.]
no subject
I'm sorry I couldn't...
[Do anything.
He stops himself from going further - what was it that Otacon said?]
We'll get it right next time.
[It's a promise.]
no subject
...like many others, I'm not pleased with this outcome. While I doubt there's much we can do for you, if there is, I'm sure I'm not the only one listening.

no subject
..Yeah. We'll be sure to take good care of Archimedes for you.

It's a little twisted.
But so is this whole game. So anyway, she just has a few things to say.]
For what it's worth, I didn't vote for you. You're kind of weird, and got even weirder this trial, but there was nothing to go off of.
[Not much consolation, but she feels like she should say that much, at least.]
