WEEK 1 - TRIAL

It's been a long night, with the knowledge burning in your brain that one of your number has died. Even if the victim wasn't known very well, this dangerous game of Mafia was still played, and that might be the worst of all. Not only that, but the Apprentice's warning still rings heavy in your minds - especially after seeing the state of Szayel's body.
The Lady appears for once when everyone is gathered, leading you all up the stairs to the third floor, past whatever glimpses of the upper floors you might get. The room she takes you to is, frankly, extravagant. There's snacks and drinks waiting inside, along with....a new person? It's a man, and as The Lady leaves and closes the doors behind her, the man tilts his head up and speaks.
"You can call me The Captain. Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"
He taps on a box on the table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'
"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. Not voting, well...That's a lot like not playing. And trust me - you want to play."
The man sits down at the table, leaning back and placing his feet on the table while crossing his arms.
"So get to it."
As he says that, music begins to play in the room...

[Even the random black stripe in the middle of all the white. Yep.]

A-anyway, I think most of us have naturally strange hair. Except for Aoi-san, that is her VR-hair, I think?

But, ah, unless hair color comes up for a clue, it's probably not relevant here.

I looked in the room with Ellie, but the staff shooed us out. It looks like he wrote down some notes about the things he's seen here! And...

We found a safe that he stored things in, but we couldn't get it open. Actually... Ellie brought me over because she thought I might be able to, but I couldn't see any numbers for it at all.
[Which is still weird as heck and he has no idea what to make of it.]

[Wish he did, though.]

[She has good memory!]

[Not a question.]

[A pause.] But we can't just go jumping to conclusions without any evidence. Unless otherwise proven, I don't think the safe is very relevant right now.

[They're totally talking ill of the dead and are going to get struck by lightning or something, but that might actually be a way out of this. Anyway.]
It was just a thought. We don't have a lot of leads right now, do we?

[Her hands curl into fists.] We could just talk in circles for hours and never get anywhere except knowing that he's been killed by a goddamn spider. And we'd still have to vote for someone.

[She's thinking hard about it, but folkore is... folklore.]
I think in the stories, they just yelled sutras at it, and we know the thread is weak to water... But do you think the only way to solve this is if we make the Jorogumo reveal its true form?

[She's pretty sure the sutras wouldn't help with making a spider be a spider anyway, but she's got nothin'.]

I did most of the investigation of his room. The main things we found were his notes, as well as a safe. I managed to collect his notes, and both me and Yoshi have a copy, though it's mostly just the public knowledge gathered up over the week.
Since the safe was apparently unreadable, we decided to call the staff for assistance in the belief that they would be willing to help us gather evidence, but the staff have stated that they won't allow access without his express permission. And then they chased us out and took the key from us.

...Odd.
[Also taking notes on your fellow resort members is sort of weird.]
I think we'll just have to ignore the safe until now. There's no point in speculating what may be inside it if we don't even have the slightest clue.
