WEEK 4 INVESTIGATION

Four weeks.

By now, waking up to death on Friday was becoming normal.

Gazing at something that should not have occurred...a death of one of them.
A death done by one of them....which could have been done by anyone.
Even by someone who would seem to have no reason to kill...🗈

Such a thing...was draining.
No, it was more than that - it was preying upon their very souls...
But they had no choice.

No matter how they felt, they had to search, to find the body and find the clues that would bring them to the killer themselves in tomorrow's trial.

...What kind of horror will they find today?

What kind of death did one of their number face?

And what sort of horrible, heart-rending truth....will be the end result, at the end of this week...?

Well, we found it. It was found in the basement, just in front of the boiler. It was clean, though there was also a scrap of a bloody handkerchief hanging out of the boiler.

. . . huh. Do you think they were trying to get rid of the knife?

I suppose it's possible, but I can't say either way. If someone wants to check it for fingerprints or whatever, I still have it, at least.

[She'll pull it out so that any detectives can check on it.]

Why leave it in front of the boiler then?

Maybe they were in a hurry. Gebura-san mentioned that there was a bloody handkerchief as well, right?

Not an entire one, just a scrap of it. I assume the scrap was sticking out when they closed the boiler. The rest of the handkerchief is probably ash now.

Oh. [ There's a sheepish realization as he finds himself laughing a little awkwardly. ] It's good that you managed to find even a scrap, though.

If it was a kitchen knife, I don't think it was actually used in the murder, or at least not as the weapon. I don't think the wound was consistent with that.

[ Erhard said it was double-edged, and it looked that way to her too, which really doesn't sound like any kind of kitchen knife. ]

So that combined with the fact that they left it out in plain sight like that makes me wonder if that was intentionally left there to hide what the real weapon was.

[ He rests a hand under his chin humming in thought. ] So you think that it's probably a plant?

It seems likely.

I see. We'll just have to figure out what that weapon was, then...

Either a sword or dagger, from the look of it.

Did anyone find a sword or a dagger?

Not that I'm aware of. Was it just Gebura-san who checked the master bedroom?

I'm not sure. [ shrug emoji maybe we should ask her ]

Wheatley was there with me, but still: We didn't find anything missing except the stake. There didn't even seem to be anything else even showing signs of being moved. Wheatley double-checked to be sure, but he didn't seem to see anything new.
