Four weeks.

By now, waking up to death on Friday was becoming normal.

Gazing at something that should not have occurred...a death of one of them.
A death done by one of them....which could have been done by anyone.
Even by someone who would seem to have no reason to kill...🗈

Such a thing...was draining.
No, it was more than that - it was preying upon their very souls...
But they had no choice.

No matter how they felt, they had to search, to find the body and find the clues that would bring them to the killer themselves in tomorrow's trial.

...What kind of horror will they find today?

What kind of death did one of their number face?

And what sort of horrible, heart-rending truth....will be the end result, at the end of this week...?

[His voice quiets but it's absolutely frigid. He pulls away from Holmes and goes to Natsuno's body, crouching down to begin his examination as if the fight never happened. The walls are up again.]

Erhard will immediately be able to tell all the 'blood' around his body is actually just paint.]

[There's a small bit, but not enough. There should be more, if he was killed here.

Is he going to take a better look at the wound?]

Just by looking, it's pretty apparent the stake didn't actually cause the injury.]

[As mentioned before, The Stake very clearly didn't cause the injury.

for one, it's blunt. For two, the wound is far too wide and large.

In fact, it looks like he was pierced through the heart by some kind of sword.]

Double-edged bladed weapon, no tearing of the wound margins implies the edges were smooth rather than serrated. Piercing the heart would've caused him to bleed out quickly, but there's almost no blood here.

The murder scene is somewhere else.

There are clear bruises on his forearms - like ones you would sustain from defending yourself.

As well as that, there's impact bruising around his ribcage, sternum, and solar plexus - Like someone was hitting him in those exact locations.

...Oddly enough, he also isn't wearing any shoes.]

[Erhard goes silent when he sees those wounds and the lack of shoes, because he's already formulating a theory and he doesn't like it.

Is there anything on the soles of his feet?]

[No, beyond some paint splatters due to all the paint around him.]

[He exhales, logically he should encourage Erhard to rest out, but he could tell that may require one or more people to physically pry him off]

I'll look over the rest of the room.

[First the books, which books were they and from what section?]

[Oddly enough, they seem like a random selection of books from all around the library.

Not what someone would expect to see if there was a fight or struggle in the area.]

[This seems almost staged. He walks a walk around the perimeter of the room, sweeping over the floor, signs of things being moved, impressions in the carpet, tracks... Anything a miss or is there and shouldn't be?]

[He may notice some slight indentations from what looks like the bottom slats of a ladder near where he got splatted with paint.

But the main thing here is the scene is too clean. There's almost no signs of struggle beyond the books being scattered on the floor.]

[Could explain the paint being so high up, but yes - it's starting to appear the scene is set up. It's time to take a look at the window, any signs of someone going in or out?]

[The moment he does, he does see the main splat - along with a bunch of paint footprints on the ceiling.]

[Can he discern from his angle their size? and whether they're moving around or randomly placed]

[They look like they could be Natsuno's footprints, and all of them seem to lead towards where Natsuno's body currently is, like he fell from the ceiling.]

[Most curious - he does a final sweep, looking at the tables this time, just to make sure he didn't miss anything]
