WEEK 3 INVESTIGATION

Three weeks had gone by, and even with the other Witch being revealed, Friday came.

Waking up on this day began to feel like the prelude to something horrible.

To a horrible sight...and some kind of deep betrayal, knowing that one of them had ended the lives of someone they'd been speaking and laughing with just the day before...🗈

...But, they had no choice. This was the game, and it had to be played - set in motion by the pair of Witches.

No matter how they felt, they had to search, to gaze upon cruel death in it's many forms.

No matter....how dear the person once was to them, today...they would be nothing but a corpse to gleam clues from, in preparation for the trial.

And so...they had to push forward. Forward...to find a terrible truth.

[He. Actually has to stop there and frown for a moment, as he realizes something.]

...it used to happen a lot more when I was a teenager, but it still happens sometimes. In order to use one of my powers, I have to be unconscious. Normally I can control when I use it, but sometimes it happens randomly too.

Do you think that's how Docter Erhard saw what he saw?

[He's just gonna do what his mom would do and puts the back of his wrist against his head like he might have a fever.

I've taken people 'along with me' before, but they always had powers of their own. Any power Erhard-sensei has should be turned off.

Could even say Erhard-san being out and about and getting hit by it was unfortunate. Can't say for sure that's what it is, but we can't all turn on Watanuki-san so easily. Paranoia only helps her right now.

I don't think it counts as turning on him to question him a little, you know? Turning on him would be more like--

[ Syaoran is also going to pipe in here, trying to stay calm even though he's on the verge of panicking over Kimihiro. ] I told you how my mother could see the future in dreams, right? Usually only fellow dream seers could meet each other in dreams, but... it's possible that given our connection to Kimihiro as 'pieces', he could have shown Erhard-san a dream of a possible future. But that future can still be changed.

[He hums thoughtfully as he nods.]

I think that might be right. The connection we all share might be how it happened.

[Also it sounds like they need to talk later.]

It would make sense... that's typically what happens between Masters and Servants - we share our memories, under normal circumstances.

[ Thanks for the words of support, Kimihiro. ] I only heard bits and pieces and not all of it [ so he'll have to probably ask again at a later point ] but if it's a dream that will cause trouble to you... I'm not going to allow it to happen. Never again. I don't want a sad dream of the future like that anymore.

...Syaoran, you know my dreams don't exist just to cause me trouble. They're warnings.

. . . Yeah. I think whatever happened in that dream. If it came to pass, it wasn't because Kimihiro is a bad person. More than likely, he had good intentions. But sometimes he's reckless, and he'll do things to help other people. Even if means that it might hurt himself. I don't like seeing him hurt, Takumi. I won't allow a bad future to happen to him. No matter what the cost.

None of this 'no matter what the cost'. If you try to rush into anything again I'll hit you, don't think I won't.

It's probably the latter, but I won't rule out the former. This is still new to me.

I can see the future in my dreams. But it's not 'that is how it will be for certain' futures. It's 'this is what is likely to happen, should things not change' futures.

If Erhard-sensei saw one of those dreams, then that might explain things. They're usually pretty dark, since they're meant to be warnings.

[Shadow massages his temples. He feels a headache coming on]

[He...could use magic and be Extra, but. Instead he just grabs some paper from a nearby table and writes down a few kanji:]

With your family name it legit reads like your parents just being proud they predicted your birthday right.

[He nods. It makes sense. He's connected to Syaoran and his mother could do similar things. It must be a family trait]

So not a 'I am thinking of doing this' but a 'this could happen'.

Yeah. Sometimes they come true, but sometimes by seeing them I can change enough that they don't come true. Or I can at least tell others who can do the changes instead.
