Three weeks had gone by, and even with the other Witch being revealed, Friday came.

Waking up on this day began to feel like the prelude to something horrible.

To a horrible sight...and some kind of deep betrayal, knowing that one of them had ended the lives of someone they'd been speaking and laughing with just the day before...🗈

...But, they had no choice. This was the game, and it had to be played - set in motion by the pair of Witches.

No matter how they felt, they had to search, to gaze upon cruel death in it's many forms.

No matter....how dear the person once was to them, today...they would be nothing but a corpse to gleam clues from, in preparation for the trial.

And so...they had to push forward. Forward...to find a terrible truth.

Mmm, what was it that they usually interrogate suspects with again?

[He's still with Kurama at this point watching him snarl at people I guess.

Once that seems to be winding down a little, Anon perks up and holds up one finger as though coming up with the best idea. And that idea is, while they're under the effect of the charm:]

Oh! Right. What was your relationship with the deceased?

I actually didn't know the two of them that well, but... I was teaching Akira-san how to cook Chinese food in the kitchen yesterday.

[ And he's telling the truth on that, at least, sounding pretty calm. ]

[He is absolutely just regurgitating crime serials or mystery novels or whatever. Probably the latter since he's been seen around reading those lately. Why is this Game encouraging things like this.]

Did you notice anything weird about him or the kitchen at the time?

I was friends with them. I'm closer to Akira than Ryuji though...

Hmm. Not really? Riku did say that Akira was having issues sleeping. Oh! Unless you want to count Ryuji wanting to be cuter than Ann?

That's funny, I didn't think Horns was the type of guy who usually had trouble sleeping!

They had potential. I was planning to give them some proper training once we got out of here.

I can't tell if you think they don't have any potential or if you really didn't want to train them after all...

...Well, they certainly didn't have what I would consider Level 5 Combatant potential, but they still had more potential than most. They might have even made it to Level 4 in Lobotomy, with the right training Still, it's important to keep things professional in this line of work: You can't get to attached, since they're probably going to die horribly eventually.

[Tsunderes will never stop tsunning! Even when their boss makes fun of them for it!

...Which is to say that the first statement is true. The part about not getting attached is definitely false even if the logic is something she believes, though.]

Is Level 5 Combatant what you've got, or something even higher? If they were such good fighters, well... they probably weren't very good anymore while they were sealed, huh?

[And hence why he spends half his time just running around the island, because good sparring is few and far between around here. All the same, he gives a little chuckle.]

I didn't talk to Ryuji-san much, but we were friendly with each other. I talked to Akira-san more often: he comforted me after the first trial, and we talked on and off pretty often. I spoke to him yesterday while working on my project in fact. And I saw him on the balcony earlier this week too.

He seemed... subdued? Like something was on his mind.

I think Ryuji seemed like a pretty friendly guy -- and he was easy to see coming, 'cause he was loud. Horns was a little harder to pin down. Your project... did it have anything to do with the books?

[He gives a brief hum as he thinks that over.]

I guess he liked the balcony. Does that mean somebody had a grudge against him...

My project? No, honestly my last trip through them kinda scared me off messing with them for now. It's on the computers.

As for Akira and Ryuji... I can't think of anyone that would here. For all we know someone just startled them and they fell: Watanuki already told us accidents count as murder here.

That's a pity, they're all really interesting and it's kind of refreshing to get off the island for a bit. Are you programming something interesting for the Game?

[He just looks either amused or a little bemused or both.]

There's definitely at least a couple of people who would, and one person who has. I wonder what happens if the murderer is already dead?

I'd like to think we got along, though I'm not as close to him as the friends who know him are.

[ Such as Ann and Ryuji for example.

He says this, and this is how he honestly feels, though he's fairly sad even if his expression is cool. ]

Right! Maybe they all bonded over their masks, Ryuji was talking all about how they were famous for their fashion back home.

Horns told you about his sleeping problems, huh?

Kind of.

He'd mentioned that he's gone without much sleep before when I was speaking to him last week, so I assumed he's had trouble sleeping before. I spoke about it with Sora, and it made sense that ended up being the case, especially with those notes I found with Akira looking into sleep aids.

Do you know if anybody else knew about the sleeping problems before today? It seems pretty weird to be taking something like that on a night like last night.

I barely talked to either of them before yesterday. I was trying to give Ryuji some advice, but I don't really know anything about cross-dressing. Before that I talked to Akira a little about dancing, since he seemed to enjoy it so much. We weren't...friends? But I think we were working on it.

I think he was just trying to get general advice on dressing like a girl, but it's definitely hard! You were probably at least a little helpful, all things considered.

I don't remember if they ever stopped dancing to spite Moriarty, come to think of it.

I helped Ryuji-kun with makeup yesterday when he asked me to. Otherwise, I didn't have much interaction with either of them.

Hahaha, I don't think he ever got close to beating Ann at anything, but hopefully she got him to call her "senpai" at last once.
