WEEK 3 INVESTIGATION

Three weeks had gone by, and even with the other Witch being revealed, Friday came.

Waking up on this day began to feel like the prelude to something horrible.

To a horrible sight...and some kind of deep betrayal, knowing that one of them had ended the lives of someone they'd been speaking and laughing with just the day before...🗈

...But, they had no choice. This was the game, and it had to be played - set in motion by the pair of Witches.

No matter how they felt, they had to search, to gaze upon cruel death in it's many forms.

No matter....how dear the person once was to them, today...they would be nothing but a corpse to gleam clues from, in preparation for the trial.

And so...they had to push forward. Forward...to find a terrible truth.

...Well, they certainly didn't have what I would consider Level 5 Combatant potential, but they still had more potential than most. They might have even made it to Level 4 in Lobotomy, with the right training Still, it's important to keep things professional in this line of work: You can't get to attached, since they're probably going to die horribly eventually.

[Tsunderes will never stop tsunning! Even when their boss makes fun of them for it!

...Which is to say that the first statement is true. The part about not getting attached is definitely false even if the logic is something she believes, though.]

Is Level 5 Combatant what you've got, or something even higher? If they were such good fighters, well... they probably weren't very good anymore while they were sealed, huh?

[And hence why he spends half his time just running around the island, because good sparring is few and far between around here. All the same, he gives a little chuckle.]

I mean, I get you, but you're not very good at practicing what you preach, are you, Gebura?

That's why I said potential. They had strong minds, a willingness to improve, and bodies that weren't outright unfit. From there they could be molded to be strong, but a killing instinct like ours isn't something that you can train into people. There's a limit to how far you can go without that.

[Gebura just kind of narrows her "eye" at that second part, tough.]

Does it even matter? If I could actually do my job here, there wouldn't have been any of these deaths in the first place.

Haha, come to think of it, Horns got all offended when we were talking about stabbing people. Like he thought all these people would never do anything like that, ever. That's definitely going to be holding him back. Probably the rest of them, too.

[Anon sounds fairly dismissive of the whole thing. It's just a weird novelty to him, having people get so offended at the idea of death and destruction.]

I don't think any of us can do our jobs here, anyway, but is that what you're going to do instead?

............

It's probably just something like cabin fever. I was made to protect people and I can't do anything to keep people safe here and people keep dying no matter what I try to do and nothing ever changes...

[Loud robotic sigh.]

I need something to take the stress off, but nothing comes to mind around here.

Shouldn't you find something else to do, then? I read that robots will see a blue screen of death if they can't accomplish their mission and they think about it too hard!

[Anon that's not how it works. He gives her half a cheeky grin, though.]

You could always come running or spar with me. Cabin fever is the worst!
