Finally, the whole truth of this affair had come out.

The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈

Though things had finally changed, perhaps it wouldn't be for the better. Nirrti herself seemed much different than how she was before, and Watanuki was the one who had brought all of them here...with that in mind, it was hard to tell how their future would shake out...

However, it wasn't all bad. A few more places were open to them, the second floor becoming a much more inviting place to be, and there was still everything they had gotten used to before. And now, they all knew that Nirrti's promises were nothing but empty air...

...or, perhaps, now they would merely change.

[ Bony's one way to put it and Natsuno nods in agreement. It'd be easier to solve by just waiting for the human to thaw but that would require making impatient stomachs wait, which as evidenced by their current occupation of the kitchen is sometimes too trying an endeavor.

Finally deciding to just go for it he slams an egg against the side of the bowl. Yeah that's going all over his hands and not into the bowl. At least theres no egg shells in the flour? This method is messy so hes not done getting enough yolk into the batter until Anon is almost finished done cutting. Also leaving the skin on the potatoes is how you get fiber, clearly he's just got their nutritional needs in mind.

What's left, what's left... ]

You're better at it than me and this dough thing. Cheese and potatoes go well together too because of cheese fries. [ Yes in theory, with tomato sauce and dough less so. ]

I still need to mix this, if you can take care of the tomatoes too. [ Those are on a basket on the counter thankfully! Ty whoever knew refrigerated tomatoes are inferior texturally. Going to town trying to mix this without adding any oil or water RIP. ]

If we ate part of it first we would fit. [ Eyeing that cheddar eating wryly. He's joking here because he still has no intention of being in the selfie. ]

[Anon gives a little cheer when the first egg is sacrificed to the Extremely Dubious Dough Gods, evidently smashing eggs looks almost as fun as stabbing (chopping) sundry foodstuffs that you're not really supposed to be treating so roughly -- he would have probably asked to help smash eggs if he hadn't been so preoccupied with knives and preliminary snacking already. Maybe next time?

He snags the basket and starts stacking tomatoes next to the chopping board (Good News: he at least knows to use a chopping board instead of abusing the counter, thank goodness for his minor tutorial in not totally destroying the kitchen up to this point), peering over at Natsuno's dough challenge with open curiosity.]

I've never had cheese fries, but I guess there's a first time for everything? Dough looks complicated...

[Somehow they can totally fit like three types of junk food together, surely this will go well. Cheese fry apple pie pizza. Of some kind. The dough doesn't look quite right, but he couldn't tell you how it didn't look quite right, so Anon's just going to popcorn in the background but with additional cheese.

But I think one of the other best parts is just eating part of it, 'cause the food is already there anyway. Wanna try?

[He'll get to the tomatoes in a minute (RIP everyone), for now he's occupied with waving more slices of cheddar Natsuno's way. Join him in delaying the entire disastrous process by eating the ingredients, obviously, this is training for selfies(??).]

Yeah, it's tough. [ Literally, this doesn't seem right. Wait a second. You can almost see the lightbulb go over Natsuno's head, as he realizes what he's missing. Wiping one of his hands on a nearby towel (rip if it was just a decorative one), and rummaging in the fridge himself for— ]

I knew I was forgetting something, dough needs butter. [ Not. Pizza dough. Throwing a few sticks in and hey, the dough is more pliable now? Success???? ]

Mmn, sure but- [ His hands are kind of occupied and all buttery to eat cheese. Help? ]

[Who even has decorative towels in this day and age. (Witches do. Witches with mansions even more so, perhaps, and Witches with mansions with towel-eating goats, well... Probably, Natsuno is not the worst thing to happen to these towels lately, but who knows how sanitary they are at this point. It's probably a moot point.) Anon shuffles over with his double fistful of cheddar cheese, still nibbling happily and scrutinizing the state of the dough...]

It looked super tough, but now it looks a little more like bread dough.

[That's about his only comment because he only knows what bread dough looks like, what even is pizza dough, and if it still doesn't look completely right he has no idea. Maybe that's how pizza do. And hey, since he's over here anyway and Natsuno seems like he's appealing for cheese after all that work!

Anon is just going to cheerfully reach over to hold out a slice of cheese for him while he's still grazing.]

Hey, do you think cheese and tomatoes go together?

[By themselves, he means. He hasn't even cut up the tomatoes yet and he's already eyeing them for snack pairings. Whoops. Too bad they didn't manage mozzarella, but it could be worse.]

And pizza's bread. [ So everything is going fine here? Totally. Though in his defense the dough does look better than before, even if it's that's not saying much.

The towels and sink are going to be his victim again shortly, and while he could hold off until he cleans his hands of this disaster dough, Anon's already wandered over waiting. Ah. Since he's here already and thrusting the cheese at him then Natsuno will just accept essentially eating from his hand. The cheddar is pretty good actually, but for some reason his cheeks have more color to them before and his fangs are visible, peeking between his lips. ]

Mn, maybe. Are you going to try it? [ brb washing his hands cool as a cucumber. ]

Hmmm, I wonder if that means a pie is also bread...

[Clearly he knows his transitive properties and thusly pie >>> pizza >>> bread there's no logical fallacies here, we're good?? Anon looks progressively more pleased with himself the more flustered Natsuno gets, but that's normal between them, obviously -- the fangs and stuff too. The handfeeding maybe not so much, but these things happen when you're in the midst of a slowmoving trainwreck masquerading as cooking.

It's an interesting and almost-new sensation in its own way, all the same: a little bit like suddenly realizing most wildlife and domestic life isn't running the hell away from you anymore. But better. Anon beams at him briefly before turning back to his tomatoes, raising his knife and -- ah, well, the counter needed some more decorating anyway. He definitely just mashed everything a little too hard and half the tomato's innards flew out the side.]

I definitely want to try it, but ah, tomatoes are harder to deal with than they look...

[He's just going to swipe it off the counter and put it in his mouth along with some spare cheese. It's fine, the counter is clean. Or was. Natsuno might want to give him a berth unless he wants to end up getting tomato over his freshly washed self here.]

Yeah, why wouldn't it be? [ Somewhere a pastry chef is rolling over in their grave.

His jinrou reflexes are enough for him to avoid the tomato massacre, but the dough isn't as lucky. First rule of cooking: prioritize your meal ahead of yourself, that's how you get cool kitchen battle scars and burns. ]

...seems like it. [ Staring at his doughball that has tomato seeds in it, then shrugging. ] We have to add tomato to it soon anyway, so this might save us some time.

[ Time to roll out this dough which is... easy because he has more than typical human strength behind him even if he is peckish. It's too bad really because if he didn't he might have noticed that the dough is way too hard for this, but oh well. ]

I guess the tomato sauce is used to fill in these cracks too... [ He's not done yet, but the dough is almost in a circular pizza shape, 'cept it's cracking because the consistency is all wrong. ]
