WEEK 3 - NIGHTSHADE
Finally, the whole truth of this affair had come out.
The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈
The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈
Though things had finally changed, perhaps it wouldn't be for the better. Nirrti herself seemed much different than how she was before, and Watanuki was the one who had brought all of them here...with that in mind, it was hard to tell how their future would shake out...
However, it wasn't all bad. A few more places were open to them, the second floor becoming a much more inviting place to be, and there was still everything they had gotten used to before. And now, they all knew that Nirrti's promises were nothing but empty air...
...or, perhaps, now they would merely change.

I don't really sing that often, so I don't know if it was any good...

Thanks, Takumi. Have you ever sung before?

[Aww, sad. But he manages to smile regardless]
My memories of them and everyone back home... it's what makes holding on at the Foundation and here do-able, I think.

[ He says that rather earnestly with a soft smile. ]
But yeah. I understand that really well.

[ There's an obvious fondness in his voice. But there's something sad in his eyes as he talks about her, a longing that sat there. ]
When I was really young, fifteen years ago... I was sent to another world with help from Yuuko-san. The price was paid by my parents in order to meet someone important. That's when I arrived in a world called Clow, and met her. She was the princess of that country and she was undertaking a purification. Seven days before her birthday.
She was kind... and she was always smiling.
[ And he stops there, allowing Takumi to respond. ]

They knew you would meet her there? Like a prophecy?

My mother has the ability to see the future in dreams, so she knew that I was going to meet her there.
[ Well, it's not the only reason why, though. ]

[seems a god enough answer to him, and Takumi tilts his head to indicate for Syaoran to go on]

That's when I said something that my father taught me. "There no coincidences in this world. Only the inevitable." And Sakura smiled at me and told me that it was also inevitable that the two of us would meet. We spent those seven days together, where I met her family. They were kind people.
And... there was one other thing. Sakura, the one I met. She looked exactly like my mother, when she was younger. And they even shared the same name, too. And I learned a lot about her. Sakura had very powerful latent abilities. She was able to understand the feelings of living things. Trees, flowers, birds... but the thing that she could understand the best is water. She truly was amazing. She even protected me from her brother, who constantly bullied me.
After that, I told her that "When someone looks like they'll be mean to you, next time, I'll protect you."

...that's honestly really cute.
[He guesses that promise might be what got Syaoran in trouble though]

[ He can't help but be a little curious and ask that before he continues his story. ]

Then, on the sixth day... Sakura had a vision. A vision of the future. She heard the tolling bells and I heard her tell me to stay away. I knew that she was in danger because of that.
The day after was the seventh day. I had spoken to her father to go to the reservoir- the place where she was taking her purification rites. Since the water there had accepted me, I went. And that's when... I saw something not from this world. He was planning on doing something to Sakura and I wanted to reach out to her hand but I...
... I hesitated, for that one second. Because she had told me that because of her purification rites, until they were done, I couldn't touch her. And it was because of that choice I made that allowed her to get cursed.

[It's not judging, just sympathetic]

My time in the world of Clow was at an end. I resisted for as long as I could, even tried to fight the person who had done this to her-
But in the end, I was sent back to Yuuko-san's shop.
