WEEK 3 - NIGHTSHADE

Finally, the whole truth of this affair had come out.

The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈

Though things had finally changed, perhaps it wouldn't be for the better. Nirrti herself seemed much different than how she was before, and Watanuki was the one who had brought all of them here...with that in mind, it was hard to tell how their future would shake out...

However, it wasn't all bad. A few more places were open to them, the second floor becoming a much more inviting place to be, and there was still everything they had gotten used to before. And now, they all knew that Nirrti's promises were nothing but empty air...

...or, perhaps, now they would merely change.

I didn't use to even like regular coffee... but someone precious to me got me hooked on them.

[ There's a soft hum. ]

I don't mind. My Boss. Kyoko... or well, I guess Alphamon is her real name. She took me in... saved my life, honestly.

[beguiledcard]

[ His eyebrows lift. ]

Ah... [ ... ] I'm glad. How long ago was that?

Counting the time I've been with the Foundation? About a year now.

[beguiledcard]

[ Oh... ]

So... not a super long time, then. [ tracing the rip of his drink ] What about before that?

Any... family?

Just me and my mom. She's a reporter and was overseas when things went... bad. B-but- don't think badly of her-! I hid what was happening so she wouldn't be worried.

[Then the Foundation happened. He just hoped his friends were helping her now that she was all alone]

[ His expression softens. ]

A hard-working person that you didn't want to worry...

[ There's a smile... and then he reaches out, briefly resting a hand on Takumi's head. ]

You're really brave.

[He tries to look stern, but all he manages is a pout]

Hey now, I'm your senpai you know. You don't need to baby me.

[ He just gives a grin. ]

Even senpai - especially good ones - deserve a day off, sometimes.

Heh, don't worry about me- I'm an expert in being lazy.

[ That gets a laugh. ]

Fair enough. [ small, vague gesture ] Well, Expert Lazy Senpai, what do you suggest we do for fun?

Fun? I'm surprised. Usually people sit out alone on balcony because they're having deep thoughts. Looking for a distraction?

[beguiledcard]

[ He gives a quiet snort... and then a somewhat dim smile appears. ]

Maybe.

[ One shoulder lifts a tiny bit. ]

And maybe you're just fun to spend time with.
