WEEK 3 - NIGHTSHADE

Finally, the whole truth of this affair had come out.

The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈

Though things had finally changed, perhaps it wouldn't be for the better. Nirrti herself seemed much different than how she was before, and Watanuki was the one who had brought all of them here...with that in mind, it was hard to tell how their future would shake out...

However, it wasn't all bad. A few more places were open to them, the second floor becoming a much more inviting place to be, and there was still everything they had gotten used to before. And now, they all knew that Nirrti's promises were nothing but empty air...

...or, perhaps, now they would merely change.

[Why y’all freaking out, this is perfectly normal Infernal-stuck-in-Foundation-and-then-Witchland behavior!!]

I did ask Watanuki about the number of people on the island and I don’t think he counted.

But I’m not sure Watanuki knew he was there.

[Apparently his stomach is a ninja.]

[ He's more exasperated than freaking out but. You know. Details. ] That probably means other people might not even know that happened... I hope people aren't panicking about where he is.

Eh, it should be fine. There was an older guy there who was training with him, and he didn't seem too worried. It was probably just another Foundation test they decided to spring on all of us.

[Anon, why!! But yeah, exasperated is valid. This is just the day-to-day roulette of dealing with his kind. And him. Mostly him.

He still doesn't seem to know whether or not it was actually Foundation issue or not, but he also still doesn't seem concerned. Pota-to, Potah-to.]

[He starts the game back up. Kirby continues to scarf down the rest of the cast and platform cutely. For all that he's still beating up the controller a bit, he's not too bad at this by now.]

I can feel you growing gray hairs from here. It's nothing to worry about!

There's nothing sure in any of the worlds, you should know this!

[He says this in the tone of a schoolteacher talking to a young pupil, except he's Anon so it's just cursed, especially with Syaoran as a target.

To remedy all of this, he just... tosses a controller at Syaoran's head.]

Here. I think you can also play this one, if you want. It's a good way to pass the time and not be an old man.

[ He takes the controller, but there seems to be confusion written all over his face. ]

... How do I play, exactly?

You hit the buttons to make 'em move and use different abilities -- I think you have to be a different character, though, so you'll have to figure that out as you go! Oh, and since you're starting out, you'll probably fall off the screen a lot and die.

[Anon here giving the least helpful video game tutorial in history.

I don't even know which game they're playing, it's one of the ones with multiplayer at least, and Syaoran is free to choose an ally character or a different color Kirby or whatever. They can fall off a bunch of platforms together.]

[ That's probably a bad thing! Nevertheless, he does take the controller and he chooses another Kirby in his color: green, as he tests out the buttons in an effort to figure out what they do. ]

[Anon's li'l Kirby (pink, always pink) does a bunch of flips and floats around the screen in silly ways while Syaoran's getting his bearings. The moment he seems to have gotten his head around most of the movements, though, Anon's sending them off on a grand adventure full of stars, treasure, spiky enemies and spikier pits, and all kinds of things!

Better keep up, Syaoran. It's speed or die in here.

That being said, luckily for him, Anon is also still learning and so this isn't precisely a speedrun either.]
