WEEK 3 - NIGHTSHADE

Finally, the whole truth of this affair had come out.

The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈

Though things had finally changed, perhaps it wouldn't be for the better. Nirrti herself seemed much different than how she was before, and Watanuki was the one who had brought all of them here...with that in mind, it was hard to tell how their future would shake out...

However, it wasn't all bad. A few more places were open to them, the second floor becoming a much more inviting place to be, and there was still everything they had gotten used to before. And now, they all knew that Nirrti's promises were nothing but empty air...

...or, perhaps, now they would merely change.

[He dances his finger along the spines of various books, reading the titles and pondering]

A Camp should be nice, right?

[excavated]

It should be. If anything happens though, let me know, alright? I'm here for you, Takumi-san.

[goldenmaniac]

Got it. I won't be gone long.

[He opens the book, bracing to fall prone... but no, instead he's, bloop, gone]

[excavated]

[ Oh, welp.

Hopefully he has a safe trip... ]

[goldenmaniac]

[Don't drop the book Syaoran.

He pops back out soon after, gasping and flailing]

[ He's not going to if he has the chance-- ]

Are you okay?!

[ Does he have to catch him? ]

[goldenmaniac]

[He might need a little catching because while Takumi himself doesn't seem hurt there sure is a dark circle of blood on his chest and his back, like he was stabbed right through. only there's no actual hole]

[excavated]

Takumi!

[ Definitely going to catch him because he immediately sees that blood and is immediately going into panic mode. Enough that he drops the honorific without even thinking about it. ]

W- What happened in there?!

[goldenmaniac]

[Takumi stares up at him, seeming almost unseeing for a moment-]

Tsu-

[He blinks a few times]

Takumi, I'm Takumi-!!

[He yanks up his shirt, and while there are blood smears he's okay]

I'm... okay...?

[ Syaoran doesn't care. Even if it was for just a second, he was gone, and seeing him back, bleeding, is definitely not a good sign. Which is probably why he just. Goes ahead and hugs Takumi, pulling him a little tighter. ] Yeah. Yeah... you were only gone for a few seconds, but if you went into another world, it might have been longer. But you're okay- you're here, you're alive, Takumi. You're okay.

[goldenmaniac]

[He doesn't cry- maybe it's echos of Ichigo's repressed emotions. But he does hug back, grounding himself in the physical now]

I'm okay... I'm so sorry I scared you that was so dumb...

[excavated]

[ Syaoran isn't crying either himself, but he's definitely a little shaken up, just a little. Just give him a moment. ] It's okay, you didn't know, and it's partially my fault... I said that it was probably safe, too, but I should have known better.

[goldenmaniac]

I'm the one that pushed.

[He's just gonna... stay here for a bit]

I think... I saw other people from the Foundation.

[excavated]

[ Well. Syaoran isn't exactly going to move or anything. ] Other people...? What were they like?

[goldenmaniac]

6350's, like us. All kids or teenagers- though they don't know about the Foundation yet. But I recognized our app...

[excavated]

App? [ Hi. He's still relatively new to the Foundation so a lot of it is like lost on him. ]

[goldenmaniac]

The little eye thing. You should have a sign in even if you haven't used it yet. Let's just say it was something I wouldn't mistake... They weren't even given the chance to be agents: just tossed at an SCP as fodder.

[Not the first time he's heard of that, being in the Foundation for longer like he has]

I was riding around in someone's head for weeks, until he... died.

[excavated]

That's... [ It's difficult for him to say words, honestly. Really difficult. And all he can do is just shake his head. ] That's horrible.

[goldenmaniac]

[Stuff like that, along with how bad things were for intelligent SCPs... these were the reasons he never considered using the offered Wish to go home. He couldn't just run away]

Yeah... honestly that's what happens to most 6350s. Even we're bottom tier- just waiting to die.

[he sighs]

His name was... Ichigo.

[excavated]

... [ He's quiet for a moment, trying to compose himself. Trying to figure out the right words to say. ] We're not, you know? Even if the Foundation thinks that - even if anyone else thinks that... We're not. [...] Can you tell me more about him? If you want to.

[He takes that declaration in, eyes bright, and finally manages a smile]

You're right. And... sure. He should be remembered. He was a good guy, I think- the person that killed him only did because the two of them wanted to protect the others. Apparently, there was some kind of killswitch protocol- sounds on brand for the Foundation - and they were both candidates for it. So they planned to kill each other before it could happen.

... A killswitch protocol? You mean like they'd have to actually kill everyone themselves?

[goldenmaniac]

Yeah. I don't know the details because Ichigo didn't. If I had to guess though they didn't want to risk the SCP escaping hitched onto one of the kids.

[excavated]

That's messed up. That just proves it to me. That... as little as I know about the Foundation, what I know now? I think I was sent to that world to help fix things. So that sort of thing doesn't happen again. And I want to hope that doesn't happen to you.
