WEEK 3 - NIGHTSHADE

Finally, the whole truth of this affair had come out.

The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈

Though things had finally changed, perhaps it wouldn't be for the better. Nirrti herself seemed much different than how she was before, and Watanuki was the one who had brought all of them here...with that in mind, it was hard to tell how their future would shake out...

However, it wasn't all bad. A few more places were open to them, the second floor becoming a much more inviting place to be, and there was still everything they had gotten used to before. And now, they all knew that Nirrti's promises were nothing but empty air...

...or, perhaps, now they would merely change.

[ There is... a book on the floor! It's not open, but it's there.

Except he's a restless boy so he just rolls a bit and well he's hit in the crotch which. Wakes him up but ow that fucking hurts. ]

Ah. Oops?

[He definitely didn't mean to aim there so maybe Syaoran pissed off Nirrti at some point.

His poor nuts..... Anon looks mostly unrepentant, if a bit sheepish. He'll at least crouch down and try to look at him! His face, not his nutsack.]

This is what happens when you sleep in the library, Syaoran, people walk into you. What were you doing...?

[Anon, give the guy time to recover before interrogation...?!]

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-10 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I wasn't trying to sleep, I just... opened one of those books and then I collapsed.
anonnomnomnom: (Can you eat it?)

[personal profile] anonnomnomnom 2019-04-10 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
That seems to happen a lot with the books around here, huh... Well, it wasn't sleep this time, but are you sure the books aren't haunted here?

[He reaches over to pick up the fallen book, seems to think better of it, and... instead pulls one of his sleeves over his hand just in case. Which book is it!]

Oh, and did you have a dream?

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-10 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[ It's Higurashi: Tsumihoroboshi-hen.

Looks like Syaoran wanted to continue the story of murder. ]

I don't think I did...
anonnomnomnom: (My what a nice sword you have.)

[personal profile] anonnomnomnom 2019-04-10 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
[He flips through it a little, I still don't know anything about Higurashi except that there are cute children who get a stabby disease and murder each other a whole lot. Anon also has no idea what's going on but it seems gory, so he's here for this.]

Oh, were you looking for something that could help us with the Game? There's a lot of murder in this one.

Maybe you need to be sleeping on the book.

[He... holds out the book as though expecting Syaoran to knock himself right back out.]

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-10 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
It's a sequel to the book I borrowed from Nirrti a while back. I thought that maybe I could find out the truth in a later volume.

[personal profile] anonnomnomnom 2019-04-12 09:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ahaha, I remember the one you were talking about -- so it really must have been cursed, and Nirrti really didn't hold back this time, did she?

It seems a little counterproductive to just knock you out with the book and nothing else, though.

Are you sure someone didn't just knock you over the head while you were browsing...

It might not have been cursed... I think she did something to the book I borrowed and all of these are just in their natural states. I'm pretty sure that nobody knocked me over the head, though, otherwise I would have felt it.
anonnomnomnom: (Wait I only have one gun.)

[He reaches out and... pats Syaoran over the head, ostensibly to check on whether he's properly checked his own noggin. Pat, pat.]

It just seemed like the obvious solution! I mean, we've been haunted by a book for a couple of weeks now.

Why would you have a library full of books that would just knock people out? A security measure for Witches...?

I don't know if you can call that a haunting . . .

[ Because he honestly doesn't think that it is one. But he's also physically fine. ]

And that might be the case.

We're talking to a girl in a book from a couple hundred years ago (according to Holmes and Joey, anyway), and she threw a bunch of weird emotions at us and a bunch of visions, and forced us to get the book from a creepy underground and burn the chapel up in the first place!

Which part of that isn't haunted??

[He definitely rattled all of that off while looking petulant but also not especially like the victim of a haunting. Maybe like the victim of being pecked by an angry crow or something.]

I wonder if we can just get the goats to hold the books for us.

[Lifehack: Demonic Realm.]

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-15 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's. . . pretty different.

[ He shrugs. ]

But you think that's possible?
anonnomnomnom: (Wish I had the talent to study.)

[personal profile] anonnomnomnom 2019-04-18 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
How is it different...

[He absolutely sounds petulant now.]

And anyway, the goats are supposed to take care of the library when the demons aren't, right? It's not good for the books if people just keep dropping them left and right. We can use that to reason with them, I bet.

Or you could always threaten to write in a book until they listen to you.

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-18 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd rather not write in them, but if we can reason with them somehow. . .
