Finally, the whole truth of this affair had come out.

The Witch they had known as Yuuko was actually Nirrti, the Witch of Misfortune.
And Watanuki was actually the real Witch of Dimensions, as the two of them fought over the power that title brought, as well as the name and identity of a long dead woman...🗈

Though things had finally changed, perhaps it wouldn't be for the better. Nirrti herself seemed much different than how she was before, and Watanuki was the one who had brought all of them here...with that in mind, it was hard to tell how their future would shake out...

However, it wasn't all bad. A few more places were open to them, the second floor becoming a much more inviting place to be, and there was still everything they had gotten used to before. And now, they all knew that Nirrti's promises were nothing but empty air...

...or, perhaps, now they would merely change.

That's the cost you absolute idiot! Countless years of suffering builds up an excess of karma that can be used to pay for magic! Just because you're paying the cost upfront and doing the magic later doesn't mean an exchange isn't happening!

That's also why it feels like you can grant those wishes effortlessly: you're just dipping into your own reserves. When you run out, it's going to hurt. A lot.

I know I'm practically a baby compared to some of the witches around here, but somehow I seem to know more about how magic works than you do!

Ha! You think I'm afraid of a little paaaaaaiiin?! Pain itself is nothing! Could you have stood those countless blue truths lancing into you and denying you in trials? Considering how you reacted when a mere fragment of your soul was crushed, you'd be weeping and howling in pain before even a moment had passed!

[She cackles, though she's clearly getting angry that he's trying to tell her how her own magic works.]

But that day will never come, you moron! Because I am free from the constraints of the world! And I am offering that very power to your dear, hand selected pieces!

All of you - Never forget that he chose you out of what you could offer him! He hid and lied to you all like a coward, just because he didn't have the courage to face me like this!!

You think he's your friend? Ha! No one is! That's what this game is!! At the very least, I am not offering you a false companionship and sweet lies, but letting you know now what I want now that I can!

[He pauses there, mostly because he can't actually refute a lot of what she's saying, even if she's making it sound worse that it is. So instead, he goes in another direction.]

You realize you're making a villain speech right now, right?

[She smiles, apparently in a better mood now that he's not refuting her.]

Of course. A Witch is the greatest villain there is, after all.

[chaoscontrol]

[retrieving his shoe--] I have a mad robotic engineer that would like to have a word with you about that.

[lutea]

Hmph.

[She does smile, though.]

Unless he can control fortune, I'm not interested.

[Shadow has a dull look on his face. he does kind of like Eggman in some ways, but...]

He has a nasty habit of digging things up he can't really control, so I'm sure he could at least temporarily control fortune.

A witch is just a witch. The real Yuuko-san was a witch and not a villain.

[lutea]

A Witch is more than just being a Witch. A Witch is what humans blame others for their own actions, and thrust their own sins upon, and call themselves righteous when they kill the Witch, regardless of who it may be.

[She smiles.]

...At least, that is the case for a being that rules over misfortune, like I do. Perhaps it is different for those that rule over the Sea.
