Week Two Afterparty: For the people who are Still Alive

That afternoon could not be more confusing.

Not only was the witch who called herself Yuuko a fake, but it turned out the witch who communicated through bird and notes was none other than one of the pieces. And the suffering... Oh, the suffering...

At least nobody else died for now...🗈

In spite of the lack of death, Wheatley was about as shaken up as everyone else. If he wasn't sure he was going to die here before, he is definitely certain now.

But he wasn't going to try and let it get to him. Even if he kind of wished he could consume things in the real world, he's still clinging to the small victory they had in sparing everyone.

On that note, he had the goats prepare a feast, turning the dining room table into a buffet table. There was turkey, fish, granola bars, fish shaped crackers, a giant bowl of frosted flakes, Macaroni and cheese with chunks of fish, fish shaped granola bars... Look, Wheatley didn't quite understand what humans liked to eat at these things, but at least it looks professional.

There's even a large cake in the center of the table. It's covered in chocolate frosting, strawberries, and has a lovely message written in bold white frosting: "WE SURVIVED".

Besides the whole Servant and Master thing. . . what was the magic in your world like?

[ Syaoran is asking this question with honestly genuine curiosity. ]
respring: (hmmm? ₎ what's up?)

I wasn't educated in proper magic, so I won't be able to tell you as much as the average magus. But let's see...was there something in particular you were curious about?

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-08 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
It's okay. Magic from different worlds is interesting to me anyway, so whatever you could tell me would be fine. Even if it's 'proper' or not. It's probably pretty different from the magic I can use, anyway.

Well...there's two different classifications of magic. The first is regular magic, or magecraft, which any ordinary magus can do. The second is sorcery, or True Magic, which is limited to really extraordinary magi. Sorcery is more along the lines of the things the witches here can do...time travel, go to different universes, creating miracles, that sort of thing.

[ The moment that she mentions time travel, there's a bit of a drop of his expression for a bit but it's just something that's short. ]

What are things ordinary magi can do? Elemental magic...?
respring: (forgive ₎ please excuse me)

[personal profile] respring 2019-04-08 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
There's a wide variety of regular spells. Elements--yes, every magus has an elemental affinity at birth, so they can manipulate at least one. They're, um... [ give her a sec ] ...water, wind, fire, earth, and ether. My sister is something of a prodigy, so she can use all five.

[ there's definitely fondness in her tone. oneesan she misses you 8( ]

Your sister must be really amazing if that's the case in your world. I don't know about ether, but I can use all those elements, too. Ah... and electricity, too.

[ There's a pause, but then-- ]

What element can you manipulate, Sakura-san?

respring: (oh golly oh gee ₎ :DDD)

[personal profile] respring 2019-04-08 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, so you're an Average One, too? [ ha ha ha ] --um, not average-average, that's just the title the Mage's Association gives people like my sister.

[ a pause ]

That's...kind of a long story. There's another branch of elements called Imaginary Elements, because they don't physically exist--I think? Mine is under that branch, called Hollow.

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-08 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess? I never got any sort of title, though... my parents were really powerful magicians though, so I inherited a lot of their abilities.

[ Although he can't help but be slightly in awe about that. ]

"Imaginary Elements", huh... I think that's amazing, actually. How exactly does it work?
respring: (eager ₎ yes?)

[personal profile] respring 2019-04-08 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, that makes sense. A lot of a magus's potential comes from their bloodlines, in my world.

[ a beat ]

...this sounds so silly, but I'm not sure, actually. I can make familiars out of it, and because I have it I can gain access to a pocket dimension called Imaginary Number Space, but I don't know much about it. I imagine it's hard for the Association to study given how few people have it as their affinity, so I learned virtually nothing about it, myself.

It's okay.

[ He laughs a little awkwardly, smiling a bit. ]

Even if you didn't learn much about it, the fact that you can use magic like that... it's pretty cool. I can't access other dimensions myself, so I think people who can use magic like that is amazing.
respring: (hah?! ₎ excuse me)

[personal profile] respring 2019-04-08 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it? [ so far it's just created misfortune for her both at home and because the Foundation ordered a battery of tests to study it.......COOL TO LOOK AT, NOT SO COOL TO HAVE

...anyway. This is a good spot to steer the conversation away from her, because this is a little exhausting. ]

What about you? What sort of magic does your family practice?

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-08 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

[ But he'll take that subject switch with a smile. ]

Well, it's kind of... mixed with Chinese, Japanese, and English magic? My father was from China and my mother was from Japan, but they both inherited Clow-san's magic, and he had family in England and China. There are some magic that I can't use, though. For example, my mother is a dreamseer. But I can't go into dreams myself.

And Kimihiro's magic is much more powerful than mine.
