Things had changed so rapidly in the past few days.

The loss of two of them hung over like a shroud, made even worse by the fact that an innocent person had been executed.

Was this....how the rest of the game was going to go...?🗈

....Even if it was, there wasn't much they could do now. Yuuko herself hasn't shown up in public since the trial, and while some have talked to her, she's been...subdued.

Did the trial hurt her just as much as them?

Regardless, the island is still beautiful, if deadly. Summer continues, beaming down on all of them, the waves of the sea warm and inviting.

But even if things look bleak...

They have something in their hands that will soon lead to the Truth, and the heart of this matter.

And in the air...lies a heavy sense that everything is about to change.

I think most of the things on this island are poisonous, and there are poisonous things in the water, too, but the shells are usually pretty good.

[Unless they stab you. But apparently that hasn't been a big issue yet, unless we're about to have a shell-assisted murder this week. Anyway, since apparently literally no one is going to correct his misconception y'all are the mismatched twins from hell now.]

Some are from the dock, and some are from the cliffs, but they're usually from the beach.

Yeah, there are a lot of poisonous things, aren't there? That's why the forest is so dangerous. . . But it makes sense.

Don't you think it makes the island a lot more beautiful the more dangerous it is? I can't even go for a walk without paying attention to what I'm walking through! I heard there's plants here that can melt your eyeballs.

[Said in that awed hushed sort of kid voice that normal kids would use to talk about dinosaurs or some shit. Yeah. This is probably the mentality of whoever created this godforsaken island.
