Things had changed so rapidly in the past few days.

The loss of two of them hung over like a shroud, made even worse by the fact that an innocent person had been executed.

Was this....how the rest of the game was going to go...?🗈

....Even if it was, there wasn't much they could do now. Yuuko herself hasn't shown up in public since the trial, and while some have talked to her, she's been...subdued.

Did the trial hurt her just as much as them?

Regardless, the island is still beautiful, if deadly. Summer continues, beaming down on all of them, the waves of the sea warm and inviting.

But even if things look bleak...

They have something in their hands that will soon lead to the Truth, and the heart of this matter.

And in the air...lies a heavy sense that everything is about to change.

Chapel!

Wooow, those goats really work fast. No wonder Yuuko really wanted Vinea to crack the whip at them.

[Anon wanders in immediately, because of course he does, drawn by the newly pristine state of the chapel and general curiosity. He grins when he sees Syaoran.]

Are you here to chase the ghost?

No, I was planning on seeing if there was any changes when the chapel was repaired, actually.

Because they didn't finish the whole Epitaph, right? "Leave the holy land entirely", so maybe the chapel is done, but it always pays to check. We still don't know how to get to the fragments, or anything.

I wonder if Yuuko and Feathers know about the whole secret chapel puzzle thing? Maybe that was under their noses this whole time, too.

[He's turning circles around the statues and poking at the facade of the chapel, looking for any possible differences.]

[Nothing is out of place, but the buttons at the bottom of the statues are missing.

Meanwhile, the inside of the chapel is just the same. There's no signs of there ever being a fire here.]

That's pretty interesting, to say the least. ]

Yeah. I think it might be done too, but it never hurts to double check just to be certain. And I don't know... maybe that's something that we should ask. I think the fake Yuuko-san might know more, considering that she called this place her 'territory'.

[It's definitely intriguing.

Something else to bring to the Witches. Anon is kind of looking forward to their reactions, actually.]

... It looks like there isn't a way in anymore, unless we want to start going through the walls.

[He seems thoughtful, as though he might actually do it--]

You want to try? It might be painful depending on what materials this place is made of, though.

Do you think Yuuko will notice? Come to think of it, did she notice that her chapel was on fire last night?

[It is a mystery, considering how much she threatened them over property destruction during her dramatic entrance! It doesn't really seem like he's seriously considering that a problem, though, beyond the context.]

This really would be a lot easier if I wasn't sealed.

But I wonder if we can ask Ruler how he did it the last time?

I'm not sure... but I'd like to think so, if it got repaired. But I don't think we should actually blow up the chapel a second time.

Boring. We'd only blow it up a little bit this time.

[But he just shrugs, given that there don't seem to be many signs that the investigation will lead to any big discoveries, even Epitaph-wise. All the same...]

If you want to just start digging, though, I don't mind. There's stuff in the garden shed.

[Are they going for the shovel solution.]

If I got hurt because of this... I'd never hear the end of it. [ He's fairly certain, anyway. ] But before we attempt any digging, I want to try something first.

It's okay! I've seen stupider injuries.

[He's helping...?

Anon just perks up when he brings up the thing he wants to try. It's probably not blowing anything up, knowing Syaoran, but maybe he's got something fun to brainstorm?]

What do you want to try? Can I do it, too?

I want to try hitting the walls to see if I'd get any sort of reaction from it.

[He cocks his head, looking somewhere between amused and bemused.]

... You're going to punch the walls?

[Anon, usually people would just knock on them.]

I was going to kick them, actually. [ LOOK AT HIS LEGGY ]

[He looks at his leggy critically. Hm. Noodle leggy. Oh, well.]

Do you know which places to kick?

[excavated]

I don't. But if it doesn't work, it's fine. It might just be that it doesn't exist anymore.

Well, we've always got free time.

[And he's always got the time to watch a guy fight a building. Why not?]

Though I think it would be pretty interesting if a whole part of the building just stopped existing. Either the goats are just that fast, or it wasn't really there properly in the first place. You think?

It's not difficult with magic, actually. But considering the author of the epitaph, they might have make it no longer exist on purpose.

Hmm. I know of some abilities that can also create and destroy places. But I'll bet they're a little different from what's going on here. I guess it's safe to talk about magic while we're not killing people.

[He should stop bringing that up so casually. Sometimes, though, you just punch a bush in the face.]

But you're right. They're almost as good at hiding themselves as Feathers. Maybe better.

Well, it's not as if magic is a taboo topic. But essentially, they are.

Magic is a taboo topic in trials! But yeah, I think it would be totally hard to avoid in daily life, even with all of us the way we are.

[All totally lame and humanoid. Laaaame!

In the meantime, he's just going to start tapping on the chapel walls, just in case. No sense in having Syaoran kick all of them in... Did they at least get the rough location of the door from Puzzlesquad.]

Now I don't know if I want to find it or not!

[He's not serious about that one.]

I wouldn't say taboo. We just can't say that magic was used to kill someone. [ Totally different. Nevertheless, he is absolutely attempting at a roundhouse kick on one of the walls, although that just... ... winds in failure and a bit of pain. He'll be fine, though. ]

With Yuuko on the loose, it's a slippery slope. She's definitely not pulling any punches.

[He seems pretty confident in that, possibly because he got unceremoniously stabbed twice the last time. Granted, he still doesn't seem to mind all that much.





He's just going to watch patiently as Syaoran like stubs his toe or his entire foot or something. Clap a little to, uh, make him feel better about it??]

... I think that wall almost moved!

Yeah. [ He says that seriously but manages to lower his leg; it might sting just a little, but his foot will live. ] But I think this might be pointless.
