Things had changed so rapidly in the past few days.

The loss of two of them hung over like a shroud, made even worse by the fact that an innocent person had been executed.

Was this....how the rest of the game was going to go...?🗈

....Even if it was, there wasn't much they could do now. Yuuko herself hasn't shown up in public since the trial, and while some have talked to her, she's been...subdued.

Did the trial hurt her just as much as them?

Regardless, the island is still beautiful, if deadly. Summer continues, beaming down on all of them, the waves of the sea warm and inviting.

But even if things look bleak...

They have something in their hands that will soon lead to the Truth, and the heart of this matter.

And in the air...lies a heavy sense that everything is about to change.

Something like that. I'm just not used to being stuck in such a small place, even after everything at the Foundation.

[He's seriously just like the biggest dog in the smallest bit of lawn, even after all this time.

His energy has only abated marginally, and it's probably even worse with the trial. He seems to just thrive on conflict and the Witches' game, for some reason. Riku himself gets a friendly smile and matching of their paces as they head off.]

But I see a lot of people out here, too. So I don't think I'm the only one.

...Wouldn't exactly call this place small, but in comparison to the Foundation, I guess it is.

I guess everyone wants to make sure they keep it together. Makes sense, though, especially with the situation we're in.

I wouldn't say I got to see much of the Foundation, so this is... still bigger? Something like that. I'm used to being free-roaming at home, you know.

Hmm. I guess it's true that exercise is a good way to calm down and focus. Is that why you do it?

Yeah, and for practical reasons too. Don't want to get out of shape.

...But do you know what always makes a daily routine even better?

And of course I can't get out of shape. I have a tournament to get back to, and I might have to beat up more Foundation agents at some point. But tell me about the daily routine stuff!

No. I used to live on an island, before I even came to the Foundation. So you could say this kind of even feels like home, in a way.

[ Not exactly comfortably so given the killing going on, because he's sure he's not going to want to play fetch with a dog here or something. ]

I was about to say if we went and did a race.

Ooh, I'm almost jealous that you had your own island! This is the first time I've seen this much water and everything.

[Which probably accounts for why he's treating it like an extended beach episode.

A seriously extended and twisted beach episode, but if murder's going to dog them for the rest of their days here, he intends to make the most of it. Somehow. And he's absolutely perking up at Riku's suggestion.]

They never let you really get out much, did they?

Not at the Foundation! But I think back home it's a, what would you call it, a cultural difference?

[It might be more geographical, really, overall. Possibly.

It might also not. It's oddly complicated, but the very simple cause and effect is that yes he is definitely more excitable than your average whatever the hell he is. You can practically see the tail wagging through all the fluff on his head and what kind of visual even is that.]
