WEEK 2 MINGLE - ARTEMISIA
Things had changed so rapidly in the past few days.
The loss of two of them hung over like a shroud, made even worse by the fact that an innocent person had been executed.
Was this....how the rest of the game was going to go...?🗈

....Even if it was, there wasn't much they could do now. Yuuko herself hasn't shown up in public since the trial, and while some have talked to her, she's been...subdued.
Did the trial hurt her just as much as them?
Regardless, the island is still beautiful, if deadly. Summer continues, beaming down on all of them, the waves of the sea warm and inviting.
But even if things look bleak...
They have something in their hands that will soon lead to the Truth, and the heart of this matter.
And in the air...lies a heavy sense that everything is about to change.

Hello. Do you need help...?

And then, suddenly...everyone finds themselves in an empty theater - like one you would see a play in.
The stage is bare, the curtains pulled across the stage. Muffled noises come from somewhere, as the light in the seating area is low, but not off - like the play is just beginning to set up.
You are all in your seats - and despite struggling, you cannot move from them.
...And everyone means everyone. Everyone on the island, regardless of what they were doing before, is in these seats, staring at the empty stage. ....Beyond Vinea and Freida, of course.]

What are you trying to show us?

[Well this is, new. It feels almost like he's inside a Reality Marble, the stage however - he's just glad some certain people weren't here as he cranes his neck, looking up at the ceiling, and then trying to peer at the edges of the stage to see beyond it]

[Kurama does make a token effort to move, but he gives up on it quickly. He'd rather not expend his energy too early.]

That said, he doesn't like that he can't get out of his seat. So he's going to yell in the direction of the group with the book, wherever they're sitting.]
What did you DO?!

Ah. Is this what they call sleep paralysis...
[Terribly inconvenient for your average Kirby who just wants to see what’s on the program. :<]
Re: ???
....?
For a long moment or two, it plays.
And then, as if from nowhere, they're all hit with a wave of crushing grief and regret.
It is deep enough to make them sob uncontrollably, feeling as if they have been trapped in a dense well for years, unable to get out, unable to attract anyone's attention even though they have screamed until their throats lost the ability to speak. The pain lances through their beings, intense enough to make someone clutch at their chest...
For Ruler, this pain is familiar - it's the same pain he felt upon waking. The same grief and regret, but somehow more intense, coiled together in a dark pit of suffering.]

... This is okay.
This fucking sucks, and he's covering his face with a hand, trying to keep it quiet. ]

Dammit, Carmen...

This is. Hm.
Boy, this is familiar. And Watanuki has to cover his mouth to keep from making any sound. With how wet his face is getting, though, it might be obvious that he is crying.]

the play can't begin yet. The script hasn't been found-
A pale, white - no, it's like a shadow's hand, but pure white - reaches out from behind the curtain on the stage, gripping it.
A small whisper appears - a woman's voice, in every ear.]
"H rr y . . . h u r r y . . .

[The hand gripping the curtain...grips it harder.
And then...
They're back, wherever they were before, on the island.
...
The book's pages remain blank - even the words Ann had written before are gone.]
