It was noon on Saturday.

No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.

The world...began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards another, much larger world...🗈

This new world looked like...the inside of an ornate courtroom, like something that wouldn't be too far from some kind of grand fantasy novel. The audience was full of people with Goat Heads...like some kind of bizzare trial proceedings.

The Witch - Yuuko - was there, sitting in the most important place, smiling in her mysterious way at everyone. There was no music to be heard, but... perhaps on another plane, in another place, someone else heard music as they gazed upon the proceedings.

As they looked around, they might have also been surprised to see that their forms had changed - perhaps only slightly, or a much more dramatic change. It seemed like this place demanded a different form in some way, even if it was just a change of clothing.

...There was a deep silence in the room, one that no one wanted to break. It was the faint tension in the air, like the moments before a race or a competition begins.

Yesterday had been the start of the game. But now, armed with all they knew...now, they had to truly go up against the Witch, and somehow.....win.

Isn't using a knife for cooking a little different than using it for fighting, though?

I'd imagine it is, yes. But I still know how to use different types of knives for different types of food, or how to hold a knife to get a particular kind of cut.

There wasn't a fight at all, though. Not a real one. [Just saiyan!] I wonder if it's because the stabber wasn't used to real fighting? So they had to use insecticide.

Well, I don't exactly know how to fight with a knife...just defend myself, if I need to, I suppose?

From what we can tell, she was gagged by a cloth covered in the insecticide, and then stabbed.

Goodness. Then...they couldn't handle her fighting back, and wanted her down before they brought out the knife?

That seems to be the conclusion. It was a kitchen knife too, so it would've been prepared beforehand.

I think a lot of people could at least defend themselves with a knife. [The skeleton head cocks at her as he thinks about it.] Wasn't it for gagging or choking or something?

It's weird they used insecticide in general, isn't it? Like something to knock someone out is smart, but why that specifically? It'd have to be someone that would know what that kind of chemical would do.

Do any of our suspects garden, or something like that?

I water the school plants sometimes. But I don't really take care of them otherwise.

I don't... I was a lab assistant before, for full disclosure. I didn't really deal with chemicals, though; I just did things like sorting samples and scoring tests.
