WEEK 1 MINGLE - KALMIA

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?

...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

If Yuuko-san and Birdie-san were right... a few days before it Starts.

"Birdie-san"-- ah, you mean the other witch. Have you been talking to them?

Yeah, a little bit. They seem nice but...

[You can say anything in a letter- it's hard to read their intentions]

Yeah.

I think they might... actually be genuine, but that's just based on what we've exchanged so far.

[goldenmaniac]

You too? They 'said' something to me that makes me think the same.

What exactly did they tell you?

[ He glances around a bit. ]

It's not a secret, don't worry. When I hurt my hand on Monday something Erhard-san said made me think. He said something about how he was surprised the poison trees were marked even though the Witches want us dead.

So I asked Birdie-san about it. If we died on accident if it would still count for the 'Game'- they said no, there has to be some 'intent' to in, in a way. But I couldn't get anything exact.

...I asked them if someone hurt or killed themselves if that would count. They seemed really upset by the idea.

... I see.

I had them taste some of my food and they seemed to have liked it. They even drew something in their response. It was a rather round cockatiel with blue eyes laying next to an empty bento. That's why I think they're most likely genuine with their words.

Oh... that's actually really cute? Way cuter than my conversation...

... You think so?

It is! You making them food, them sending you a drawing- it's charming!

I wonder if there's a reason they sent me that drawing...

Maybe I'm overthinking it... but they could have just written 'thank you', right? Without the drawing.

What, you've never had a girl write you a note with a smiley face on it, or a cute mascot? Though I guess the Witch isn't for sure a girl...

Sakura's never written any notes like that... I guess you're right, though. I thought the witch was a girl based on what the goats said, but they were probably referring to the fake Yuuko-san at that time. If I misgendered the other Witch, I'll have to apologize to them.

Sakura... I'm guessing you don't mean our Sakura- the girlfriend Watanuki-san mentioned?

And I guess we could just ask them?

Yeah. The Sakura I'm referring to is someone completely different from Sakura-san.

And maybe I'll ask in my next letter...

I will. I do have some other things that I learned about them so far, but I don't know if it's all that important... [ He is going to go ahead and take a seat himself, across from Takumi so he can actually put those books down. ]
