WEEK 1 MINGLE - KALMIA

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?

...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

I wonder if there's a reason they sent me that drawing...

Maybe I'm overthinking it... but they could have just written 'thank you', right? Without the drawing.

What, you've never had a girl write you a note with a smiley face on it, or a cute mascot? Though I guess the Witch isn't for sure a girl...

Sakura's never written any notes like that... I guess you're right, though. I thought the witch was a girl based on what the goats said, but they were probably referring to the fake Yuuko-san at that time. If I misgendered the other Witch, I'll have to apologize to them.

Sakura... I'm guessing you don't mean our Sakura- the girlfriend Watanuki-san mentioned?

And I guess we could just ask them?

Yeah. The Sakura I'm referring to is someone completely different from Sakura-san.

And maybe I'll ask in my next letter...

[He takes a seat at one of the table and grabs a book]

I will. I do have some other things that I learned about them so far, but I don't know if it's all that important... [ He is going to go ahead and take a seat himself, across from Takumi so he can actually put those books down. ]

Might be, might not be. Too early to say for sure.

I guess so. I do want to know more about them, though... what kind of person they really are, and if there really is a meaning to all of this that won't just simply wind up in tragedy once again.

...you've had a lot of bad luck with wishes, huh?

. . . Unfortunately.

Do you think the Witches can even fulfill their promises?

[excavated]

I don't know. I do have a wish that I want granted... but I don't think playing this game for it, having people die for that wish is something they would want.

[goldenmaniac]

[ "They" ... he takes note of that but decides against pressing it- in the end it's not his business. His natural curiosity bristles, but at least he can manage *some* tact]

It's strange... I can't say I even have a wish.

[ He smiles in a way that's a little wistful. ] Not everyone does. And I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

I hope so... but makes me wonder why they'd pick someone that won't be tempted by what they're offering.

[excavated]

That has to be a reason, right? And I don't think that they want everyone to be tempted.

[goldenmaniac]

They need people to kill, after all.

Birdie-san told me to keep my optimism- that we were going to need to hold morale. I dunno if I'm best for that, but I guess I can at least try.

That's not the only thing, you know.

[Takumi makes a questioning sound, tilting his head]

She said "you must find the culprit when one of you are killed", right? That means there needs to be people still alive in order to do that.

Well yeah, but I mean that doesn't have to be me specifically. We'll all do what we can.
