WEEK 1 MINGLE - KALMIA
All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.
Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?
There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.
Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.
Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.
Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?
...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

They already have their ways of knowing who runs away. I heard they have people in charge of hunting down those who escape -- and I'm rather sure by now they noticed our absence from the bases and are looking for us.

If you want to make yourself easier to identify, sure. I doubt they'll punish us as a group—it would be a waste of resources and pretty pointless. But if they found out their was a cohort who would turn against them as soon as the opportunity was right? That's a different story.
[ Don't trust anyone, in other words. ]

[Sure seems that way, according to Natsuno. She'd be placing the spotlight on herself. A small part wants to say that's okay, saying if everyone else gets away then it was worth it, but she wants to live too!]
I guess it's obvious I'm not used to doing this kind of rebellious things?

You get better at it, or you die.

One try is all I have.
[The only chance is the time they'll spend on the island. She really doubts the chance will present itself ever again]
Maybe I should try that wish the witch mentioned. Living until the end of this game will be enough to get it. I should be able to do that much.

Uncomfortable silents are awkward enough, but it's made all the worse by the fact that Natsuno approaches, hovering right on the border of her personal space. ]
You really think that? You're easy prey.
no subject
Too naive?
[She has gone through so much and managed to survive against all odds. This feels like one thing more, so she wants to think she would be okay. Hopefully]
no subject
And weak. Do you even know how to fight?
no subject
[She shows her cane, opening it slightly. There's a dagger inside]
Not that I have ever used it before in a real...um...emergency.
[There's only so much she can do in a fight, though]

Looks like she's way more into defensive stances instead of offensive ones. The Foundation helped her in terms of strength and technique, but in the end, she still is a young human who before that wasn't that experienced. Within a minute or so Natsuno should be able to take the cane away from her.
Still, a minute is a rather long time to be in a struggle over an object, isn't it? A lot can happen in a minute]
no subject
Better than I thought. You might have time to yell for help, but if anyone would come running is another story entirely. [ Also he's keeping this cane for now, slowly turning it over in his hands. ]
no subject
I'd be looking for a way to run away myself, if I lose my cane. I was told injuring your attacker can give you enough time to run if you hit the right spot.
[Obviously.]
no subject
You'll get an edge on them, yeah. But they still might be faster than you. What would you do then? [ He slams the cane into the ground—not hard enough to break it but enough to make a bang. ]
no subject
...I'm not sure. Running is difficult when you're... [Well. Blind. Walking is one thing, running as fast as possible is another] I would have to use anything I could get my hands on to fight back or gain some time.
[She'd have to get lucky, pretty much]

If you freeze up, it's over.
no subject
I know. Keep fighting and moving until it's over.
[One way or another. Hopefully 'over' in a way that isn't her death]
no subject
Now all you have to do is not forget that. [ He pauses here, realizing that despite their two distinct interactions that he doesn't know her name. Far be it from him to ask, but the silence might be enough indication for her to catch on. ]
no subject
[Oh, right, she hasn't introduced herself...]
I'm Makoto Makimura. It's been nice to talk to you.
[There's an unposked question to get your name, Natsuno]
no subject
Yuuki or Koide. Use whichever one you like but not both.
