All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?

...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

I'm not entirely sure myself, but I think that it might be a map of some sorts... the lines in the first, second, and third stanzas seem to imply as much since it has the word "travel".

So maybe the part after that must refer to how we get to that place. Maybe to find the truth, or something. I think it's interesting that the last few lines are in Latin, though.

[IT makes sense for a riddle to be a map of some sort...she's not sure what role this has with the game they're playing in, but if it's here it must mean something]

I'm fluent, actually. My dad was an archaeologist, so he learned a lot of languages... so I wound up learning a lot from him. I can at least translate.

"From one, learn everything
From the beginning
To eternal rest"

... is what it would be translated as.

[So that's what it means. It's so poetic]

Everything about this is about finding and about the truth. Do you....do you believe them when they say we playing along is vital?

I do. Maybe it's not important to us... but to them, it might just be. It's just a matter of perspective.

...part of me is hoping this won't be as bad as they made it sound, but with this poem and what the witch said...

I think that the game itself night be. But this message... If it's a riddle, I don't think we should be taking all of it so literally.

Double meanings might be important to solving this.

I was never very good at puzzles. The literal interpretation was all I could think -- and here I was wondering if we would find just truth or if there'd be something else too.

[Double meanings, huh. That's going to be kind of tough]

It's okay to not be good at them. I'm sure that you're good at other things, so don't worry about thinking too hard.

[ There's a kind politeness to his words as he says them, in fact. ]

Anyway, if we're going with double meanings... "kill" also means to put an end to something. Or to cause the failure or defeat of something.

But yeah, even if there is truth to be found, we don't know what that truth entails, or if it's even meant for us.

Like when there's a truth that you'd rather not know? That kind of 'we don't know what it entails'?

The truth sometimes hurts.

[ There's an obvious pain to the way he says those words as he lets out a short sigh. ]

It's possible that it could be something where we don't know what it entails. Or it could be a truth that isn't relevant to us at all.

Then some truth the witches don't want to know? [...hm...] Wouldn't they have to know what it is already? They made a poem about it, after all.

That depends. Did they write it? I don't think we should be making assumptions about that so soon, not when neither of them have said anything about it, from recollection.

Maybe I'm hurrying to try to find meaning to this. [She leans against the wall] I have been confused since we arrived here, I guess I wanted to find a way to make even a little part of this game make sense...

I understand you wanting to hurry. I kind of... want answers too, even if I'm aware that rushing it will make me prone to mistakes. I want to understand the meaning behind this game, too.

Especially when I have so many questions.

Aren't you worried? You sound calm.

[Calmer than she is, at least, and Makoto isn't exactly freaking out]

I... [ There's a slight bit of hesitation, a shakiness to his voice. ] I can't say that I'm not worried. Especially when there's someone really important to me here. But I can't just let those worries get to me. There are things that are much more important.

Such as what?

[She sounds really interested in hearing about what Syaoran considers important. You can know about a person by their answers!]

[ There's a genuine softness to his voice as he replies: ] There's someone else here on this island that I want to protect.
